I think the jobs lost is a waist. A lot of good people need those jobs, but cant get them. I've lost a lot of friends and family because they had to move or lost their homes. The government is not doing anything to help. i keep hearing all this stuff about getting new jobs for the people. Yet nothing has happened. I think the government should stop letting big factories leave the country for cheaper workers. That would help the most.

ChinaMARi3 said...

I agree with TWalter, because a lot of people do need these jobs so they can take care of their responsibilities. More and more people are getting laid off and losing their jobs. I think there should be something done about this.

T.Chapman7 said...

i feel that the economy is turning around and we all should just try and get through it. we are well on our way to getting back to old ways. however, its going to take time. just like Tig Gilliam said "I don't see this as a setback. We're still on the right trend here."

eholbrook2426 said...

I think T.Chapman7 is right but wrong at the same time. We all are effected by the recession and all the job losts and its hard to get through it. I have family members that are having money troubles now and it makes me sad to see them go through it. I feel that the government needs to make better decisions in the companies they shut down and try to compromise for better workers.

The loss of jobs grew substantially in December. Many people who need jobs are unable to find them and unable to provide for themselves or their families. Many people here in ur community have suffered from unemployment and teenagers are unable to find a job to pay for their entertainment and gas to even get to school. I believe the government needs to get involved by funding new stores or reopen ones that had to close do to the recession

I have to disagree with some of the people who commented so far. I feel that the people feel like it is improving then a few months later it goes back to a struggle. Many people are still losing their jobs but its slowly getting better.

a.nichole2010 said...

I also agree with TWalters, because many people need jobs that were lost. A lot of people around the world are falling into foreclosure. And the main culprit is they can no longer afford the payments because they are unemployed. I watch the news every night and I always hear about new jobs getting created. My question is "where are they?" because you wont find them here. I feel that large industries should stop moving over seas and stay in America so our people can make a living.

I think this job lost is a very big problem in society. People need their jobs to be able to support their families and to be financially stable. So many people are losing savings and have nothing to fall back on. The government needs to do something about it or at least do a little something to help out the citizens of this country and I wish they would follow through with their plans and what they are telling Americans. If they promise new jobs. Then give the american people new jobs. That would end some problems going on.

I agree and disagree with some of the people who commented this. I guess the government is trying but obviously they aren't trying that hard if this many people are going with out jobs right now. People have families that they have to support and provide for. Something defiantly needs to be done about this. Fast.

I also agree with TWalter, about the factories moving out. They're not helping at all. If they still operated in america we could possibly have a better economy, my dad got laid off from ak. He didn't work for ak but for a contractor

NRawlins.5 said...

I think that the loss of jobs is slowly but surely getting better. It won't all happen at once, it will take some time. Everybody isn't just going to wake up one day and have their job back. The economy is slowly getting better and that's really all we can ask for right now.

Kjoseph5 said...

I believe that all these job loses is just uncalled for because people need jobs too make the world go around. People without jobs mean business won't get any money because people wont have money to spend with no jobs.

Adam™ said...

Personally i feel that jobs are improving a little but it is still insufficient to meet the demands of everyday living. Ya its hard for us teens to find jobs but that's because we lack experience as were adults have more. Even so jobs still are not as easy to find but it is improving slowly.

M.Hackney5 said...

Yes i think it crazy how people is losing there jobs an friends an family because of the government something should be done but the government don't listen to the people they care about there own. but the thing is the government is slowly listing to us as people lose there jobs.

MCisco5 said...

I don't think that all these job lost are not worth it. They cause a bunch of familys to have a real bad money problems. They al try to keep there money on track but they can't with them always losing there jobs all the time and never being able to keep a steady money income. They go from job to job trying to keep one but if every one gets let off all the time cause of people losing there business losing everything they had.

RHerrera5 said...

I think the economy is falling apart with all the job losses. Many people deserve to have a job, like hard working people. I hope the economy doesn't come down to be like the great depression. I hope president Obama improves the economy in the U.S. Loosing their jobs can cause them to loose their houses because they wont be able to pay for it.

tdodson5 said...

I think that the economy is falling way off. People not having jobs can result in family's loosing a lot of things. Such as their houses because, if they have no job their not bringing any money in to pay for the bills to stay in the house. I also feel like we are all effected by the recession and all the job losts and its hard to get through it. Hopefully with time passing by it will get better.

Jovon6 said...

the U.S is really crazy. it sad how many job that's being lost. it's seem like the world is getting worst. i wonder how the going get better

Search said...

I think that the economy is slowly returning to what we think is *normal*. But we have to get past the worst of the worst of this.... then we will be able to get more of the jobs back on the line. After we get more jobs then the economy will improve.

Anonymous said...

I think that this is a very sad even but I have to agree with the man who said it's not as bad as we expected it to be. This is the beginning of a turn around. I'll also add, this is not as bad as the great depression.

sean kelsey 6 said...

i think job lost is bad. Everybody can do the the but job lost is causing people to lose their jobs. job lost is bad to have cause u propobly can't find another job around. Everyday theres somebody that loses a job. Job lost is terrible to have when u are in a bad shape of bills.

The month of December was another decline in the job market. The government's promise of immediate jobs has yet to be carried out. Layoffs aren't happening as quickly as before but the hiring process hasn't increased much either. More and more people are relying on the government to help them get by with unemployment checks and EBT foodstamps because they can't find work. If the big chain stores such as Walmart would actually get the products that they sell from an American company then this could help the economy in a big way and create multiple jobs in factories. Companies need to quit hiring illegals and sending jobs overseas because it's not helping this country at all.

hdornon7 said...

I agree that lots of companies have been making cut backs in personnel, and several people have lost their jobs. Hopefully, the majority of the lay-offs are over and businesses will start to hire people as they grow. I do not agree that it's the government's responsibility to do anything about the lack of jobs, however. They should create services for the unemployed to help, but stay out of the economy for the most part.

Jordan Groh said...

I think that the number of jobs lost is higher than many people expected. But i think that we are starting to turn around since the start of the new year. I agree with tig gilliam that we are on the right trend and starting to turn around and that we will eventually leave the lost jobs behind and lower the number tremendously.

amber burns said...

I personally have not felt the full effect of job loss because of the fact i am only a teenager, and I still have my job. But I do know someone in my family who has lost their job and that has had a major impact on them. They are doing there best to find just the simpliest job to recover from the over due bills but that seems even impossible. Sometimes I wonder what the gov't is doing to help, but i dont know whether to blame the gov't or not like everyone seems to be doing. All we can really do is hope things will turn around.

CRice7 said...

Why is everyone blaming the government for the lost jobs? Everyone expects the government to fix this problem immediately. The government is trying to create jobs but how can they create good jobs if the services or goods provided by the jobs are not needed? They say there is going to be a job increase, but I think it's going to take awhile.

Most of the people who are currently jobless stopped looking for jobs but still complain about the government not creating jobs. It's not the governments fault you gave up. Some people believe it's our governments fault that all are jobs have gone overseas however; even if most of our jobs have gone overseas they could comeback if people didn't support and consume products created overseas. If people paid attention to what they are buying and where they are buying it from there would be a higher demand of jobs needed in America. Stop blaming the government about not having jobs when you're the ones supporting the companies overseas.

EnaRedzepagic said...

I think that the jobs being lost by people is a horrible thing. Someone has to bring something to the table at home. People have families to support, mouths to feed, and all kinds of other expenses. It's really hard for people find a good job in this economy.

It's unfortunate that people are losing jobs.. Though no one in my family has lost a job things are tight financially. But it's a part of the cycle the economy constantly goes through. It's unfortunate but jobs can't be pulled out of thin air. I think if we wait a little longer eventually things will get back to normal, and then repeat again in the future.

Because of so many job losses over the past 2 years it shows how weak the economy and labor market continue to be during an economic downfall. I think there is still hope though, just as Tig Gilliam said,"There could be job growth in the first 3 months of this year." We all must work together and make the best out of the situation.

Roof1619 said...

With so many job losses over these past 2 years it shows how weak the economy and labor market contunes to be after such a downfall. Households are being affected greatly by this. Hopefully though we will see improvment. As Tig Gilliam said,"There could be job growth in the first 3 months of this year."

Franchesca mOrgan said...

People are constantly losing their jobs. As of that result people just stop looking all together. Company are back on the rise however they are not yet ready to hire because they want to make sure that everything is what some people would say reliable. I don't blame them who would want to hire someone.... and then half to turn around and fire them...! because there company is not meeting government expectations ...!

dbraswell5 said...

i think jobs is a waist of time because people is losing jobs real quick. i ben looking for job for the longest in still aint find one.

AnthonyH said...

I think that while the job problem is a major issue, there are still other things that are causing problems, like health care and the deep debt issues. While some people don't have or cant find a job, other people are buried in a mound of debt from which they cant escape.

williamp said...

I didn't think the job loss was this dramatic. It is still effecting many the united states today. The amount of people get fast food jobs effects us teenagers.

K.Buckner6 said...

i think that whats going on right now in the world is just all a joke. Because there's a lot of people out in the world right now that really need's a job. Especially to get by, to take care of themselves, and to help take care of there families. I just truly think everything right now is just waste. I think the cities are to busy spending all the money we have on things we do not need right now. And it actually makes me mad because they could actually be helping out with what's going on right now but no... every time they spend money it just goes down the drain. I just wish someone would realize something and make a difference.

Bailee™ said...

I agree with a lot of the previous comments. many people have been laid off and are all on the hunt for new jobs. It is a huge crisis but there is nothing any of us can do, its the governments job. People need to realize that we are in a recession and that we have been for years, it just keeps getting worst instead of better. Things will eventually catch up but it just takes time. People will just have to do all they can do until everything is brought back together. I know plenty of people that are laid off and doing whatever they can to make money, but their so used to having a good job that had a lot more opportunities for them, and since they found a different job they expect it to be just as good. Its not going to work like that, we're in a recession, so just take what all you can get.

jstreeter7 said...

I hate their fact people are losing their jobs and houses and not being able.To provide for their family especially people that have worked their butts off to get where their at and lose it. Because of this economy right now and I feel the government isn't doing anything but the difference between the government. And a lot of people is the people for the government have jobs!

Madewell Toby 3rd said...

I believe that the reason for these people losing goobs is because the consumers want to keep their money. If they would spend money and not be afraid of spending on products and companies. I think that if the consumers would spend more the economy would flow a lot better. People wouldn't get laid off, and people would have a lot more jobs. Then unemployment wouldn't be a problem.

KC said...

I think that the job lost is a waist. A lot of people lost there jobs that have been working for many years. The economy will never ben the same after we get though this.

MA said...

I think job lost sucks. people that loose there jobs half to end up selling there stuff and half to move and it all sucks.

triley6 said...

i think that the jobs were so waist that people lost everything that they had.

Whitney Patrick said...

I think our economy is growing very weak. With all these job losses its caused alot of pain. But yet we don't really know what to do. In history classes they say the way to get out of an recession is to start a war. Although I feel that is not needed. I feel like it is up to the goverment and our patience and cooperation to get us out of this mess.

alanh7 said...

Thankfully, unemployment has not been a problem in my family; however, it is a threat. The December raise in jobs was most likely due to the holidays. Now that they are over, though, those jobs are now gone and people are unemployed once again. Hopefully, new jobs will open and not disappear.

DustinX4 said...

I know you can blame the government for a lot of this and even business owners. Although, some of us are to blame as well. For example, when it comes to stuff like general stores for instance, if people didn't steal from the stores then that store could gain more money to stay in business. This probably isn't a big loss of money, but I'm sure it can add up to be a lot.

cwilsonpd4 said...

I think that this is a big problem but you can work at it two ways. I think if people really made an effort to get a job they could. Everything isn't the governments fault. People need to take responsibility of themselves. Job losses are sad but they could always try to go get another job, and do side jobs to get money.

edwinb5 said...

I think that the componies shouldn't let their people go. A big part of the economy is the jobs. With more jobs, people will start sending more money. The government should step in and help people out with jobs. When componies leave the U.S. tho look for people who will work for less, it kills us here when we have no jobs.

nsetters said...

I think when we start inproving on the unployment rate our economy will start going up. The economy is forcing people to save instead of spend witch at the same time is also hurting it. I know a lot of people that were forced to go back to school and start over. So, when our economy start to inprove and people have the the money to put back in our economy it will be in better shape.

NBogard said...

December is not a good month for job gain. We had a steady increase in job loss. I have many family members who have lost their jobs. All of them lost their jobs in December. So I from my point of view, know that december was not a good month for job loss but one of the worst.
