Considering that an estimated 1 in 10 people in Butler County (a little more in Middletown) I believe that almost everyone knows someone who has suffered from unemployment during this recession. The layoff rates are outrageous, and even the temporary services are next to hopeless, with employers letting go of temps the day before they are required to hire them.
Personally, with a family that had just hit the ground running, successful in its financial endeavors, the recession hit us hard. We were doing unusually well... and then we weren't, and we've gone through some hard times. I believe that everyone knows what I mean when I ask - when does it end?

I can't believe so many people got laid off. Since my father is self-employed, and my mother is a company supervisor, they haven't had to worry about getting laid off and finding a job. They've been very lucky considering all the cuts companys have had to make during the recession.

in this recession, people getting layed off or losing their jobs is pretty understandable. but that doesn't mean that it is a good thing. with the decrease in money, businesses are barely able to operate and pay all of their employees. so unfortunately, people are losing their jobs.

Yes, the unemployment rate in butler county is high. my mom was laid off from her job for awhile because she works for a car parts inspection company and since no one has has money to buy cars, she isn't needed at her job. thank goodness my dad got two jobs awhile ago for the state so his positions are sturdy. i think that we all know of someone who has been affected by unemployment. its sad, very sad to see but the only thing we can do about it is hope for the better.
