Towne Mall: What Plan Do You Support?

The Towne Mall is a discussion that we are becoming more than familiar with in our community. What do we do with this prime location that seems to continue crashing right in front of our eyes? What will it take to turn this location around? Read the 3 suggestions for this location and respond with your opinion about the suggestions. Do you have a better idea for our community?

The town mall is definatly dead and has no business, just like Middletown itself. We need to form a plan that is going to help our economy with the recession and bring business back that may even open up more job oppotunites for people. So saying this i believe that Alternative number two would be are best choice.

I remember as a young boy going to the Towne Mall and enjoying a fantastic day with the family. Now, you are lucky to see two families walking around in the ghost town-like area that was once a booming shopping center. Looking at the 3 plans, in my opinion number two would seem to be the best. Looking at the money and crowds that the streets of West Chester, Dayton Mall's Villiage Plaza and the new Outlet Mall are drawing, I don't see any way in which this plan could not win. With a performing arts stage (for local music and thetare troups such as Summer Youth Theatre and Middletown Lyric.) and choice stores and restaurants that everyone likes, the Towne Mall could once again make alot of money and make alot of people happy.

I agree that somethings needs to be done with the Towne Mall. There is not much business. With the 2 hotels and an apartment complex already near the area, I don't think more hotels are necessary. With the new outlet malls in Monroe and the Dayton Mall, I don't think a mall is needed there either. One suggestion I have heard and liked is putting in a casino. Although casinos are still not allowed in Ohio, it would be nice for Middletown to be able to use the money from the casinos.

If you're ever driving down the road and pass the Town Mall, just at a glance at the parking lot you could tell that it doesn't have much business at all. What once was a great mall, is now a run down, power walking route for older couples. After reading the article and looking at the three different options, I think that number two would work best. Although 1 and 3 would still be much better than what the mall is now.

our town mall sucks. It has been gone down the drain. If you want to go shopping you have to go all the way out of town just to get an outfit. they should just knock it down and put something useful there like something for teenagers because we don't have anything in town to do.

The Towne Mall has no business at all anymore. it has changed over the passed years. In my opinion plan 2 will be the best one to help our economy out. Now looking at all the business that the new outlet mall has, we def. need more stores and that will help bring more job opportunities

The Towne Mall is definitely lacking business. If they do anything to the mall, they should completely make it over. They should bring in big businesses and restaurants that will make money. Middletown needs a place that will bring in people to spend money and keep the money of the people of Middletown. The best Alternative would be number two in my opinion.

People need jobs so something is needed to be done about the town mall itself. One of the things they need to do is first get more stores open, secong hire more teens. Last thing that needs to be done to help out middletown and there town mall is make the mall bigger. This could help out with our economy with the recession.

The Towne Mall is dead. Hardly anyone goes shopping there anymore because there are hardly any stores still open. A long time ago, there use to be a ton of people that went to the Towne Mall. Middletown needs to do something to the mall

It's obvious that the mall has no significant business if any at all, I think the problem is that all we have in Middletown is already somewhere else made better. We should use the space for something that towns around us don't have, it doesn't have to be something expensive just something only we have.

Middletown in my opinion is not a dying city, it is however a great example of the country and its current state, on a smaller scale. The Towne Malls destruction in my opinion could do the town a lot of good. I love the idea of the second plan, outdoor entertainment is all the rage (bridgwater, union center, the monroe mall...etc.) If we were to put in good dining options and a few shopping choices there would be no reason for us to fail. The idea that I think would be the cherry on top would be to make the center community based. There is so much that Middletown has to offer as far as Arts and History are concerned. The area should be constructed to resemble the downtown scene of what it use to be in its prime. Also an area where theater is so popular as well as remarkable, there should be a way for us to showcase our talent which will thus bring in a hometown audience/ consumer.

i do not believe that the town mall should be redone. there is not enough money to go under such a great deal of construction. there will just be more debt.

What I think they should do is give the mall a big makeover, add a second floor, give it a new name, and advertise it like crazy. I hate all the ideas about outdoor shopping center stuff, I like air-conditioned indoor malls. And if they have a good food-court, some electronics and video game stores, a good book store, and a LASER TAG PLACE, along with the usual clothing stores, the mall would take off in no time.

In my opinion, the towne mall is a waste of space. I think the best way to go for now is to just take out the mall completely. I think the reconstruction of it all to redo it would just make things worse economically. We should wait till the overall economy improves before making any big changes. Yes jobs will be lost, but it's not doing any good sitting there getting no use.

My favorite thing is when people ask, "Middletown, whats in Middletown?" After telling them about our lack of attractions everyone is always shocked that we have a "mall". I think the redoing mall could be a very good thing for Middletown. I am sure it would create jobs like the Monroe Outlet just did. If i had to pick the best option I would choose option number 2.

The towne mall is definantly outdated and dead. But I really think it should be turned into something. I don't know maybe a flea market or something of that sort.

The towne mall has been dead for a long time now and is only hanging on by a thread. All the stores moved out because they were told to leave so they could rebuild the mall. Big surprise they didnt do anything. The new outlet mall had first came to middletown to build the mall there. Our city council has everything backwards and seems to make all the wrong decisions. Thats why there is nothing in middletown but bowling and the movies.

the towne mall is deff. not the place to be anymore, its dead. As i looked at the plans , plan two seems like the one that would best help us . It might give more people a chance to get a job.

I think the best option for the towne mall is to rebuild the whole place like option two. If they restart, Middletown might actually make money from the mall. Also i kind of like the pond thats in option two.

I have to support the Partial Anchor Retention plan on the basis that it seems to be the most functional, and while not the most innovative or novel, it has the best chances of success. Plans 2 and 3 seem faulty in that eventually, one side of the facility will end up giving over to the other when one is much more successful.

Middletown is always going to be Middletown a ghost. The towne mall is just a waste of space and a waste of time, nobody even thinks about going there anymore because they have no business whatsoever. If the towne mall plans on getting back on there feet and back into business they better figure out something and quick.

I think that Towne Mall should become something like the Greene in Beavercreek. There's shopping, food, and there will be apartments on the upper levels of some of the buildings too. Honestly, I don't see the point of having a hotel there because Drury Inn is right across the street. And a movie theater would be useless because Danbarry is close by as well.
