Although the article is no longer there, I figured I would put my two sense in about this topic anyhow.
I do not believe that the recession is almost over, at all. Although we are having .4% increases, as they are so major and important, that is not enough to get things up and running again, clearly. The stimulus plan has ended up costing more money than it was worth, the Cash for Clunkers program isn't doing all too well in its own. It's clear that the gov't is taking actions towards aiding in the ending of the recession, however it's obvious they still haven't got something right. Maybe they have the right ideas, and are just going about them in the wrong way? Maybe they are just straight wrong to begin with? Who knows such things? But, something we do know, is that what's being done is certainly not enough. You cannot spend more money withing a few months of a first term presidency than the previous administration did in two full terms, and expect for some lead way. I am no expert on all of this, so I have no solution in mind. But the gov't better get their stuff straight pretty soon, or else this recession will not end for perhaps another 20 years.
