My thoughts on President Obama's speech is that he was speaking to us as a nation, because we are so tired of this war in iraq. This speech focused on Foreign and domestic policy, on monday. A lot of his speech was about how honored he is by the armed forces, then he went on to talk about how costly the war was. He then turns his attention to say how we are changing directions from iraq to iran. He also briefly talks about what we can gain from this and how it is now Iraq's turn to step up to the plate and make a democracy. Also the camera really emphasized on the family photos in the background.
President Obama accomplished many things in this speech. Persuading america to respect his decision. Informing us on whats going to happen with Iraq and soldier's and Also entertaining us with how hard, brave, and appreciated our troops are. Even though we've lost a'lot of troops we still stand strong. Also in this speech he is stating that mission Iraq is now over. "turning the page" is a phrase Obama used. He wishes the best for Iraq, But its time for Iraq to hold up their own.
I liked how President Obama emphisized his appriciation and attitude towards the troops who have been over seas, been injured, or have lost their lives. People are tired of the war because it has lasted a long time, and are excited that the troops are coming home. Obama talked a lot about how hard it will be for Iraq to take control of their government once again, epecially with al qaeda still planning terrorist attacks and other countries trying to go at war. I think it will take time to get everyone on the same page as Obama, but hopefully this "new page" will be turned soon, and successfully.
I like the following things about President Obama's speech. He spoke clearly and addressed the nation in an tone which was settle. Not too affirmative, but again, not too soft either. I also liked how even though it was a seventeen minute long speech, it didn't really seem like it because it was interesting. It wasn't boring. It made you want to learn and know more and more as he spoke. I also like how he stated that he proposed the idea to end the war during his presidency, and actually achieved it. It makes it seem that he's true to his words when he says that he's gonna do something, and actually does it. Finally, I liked how a good portion of his speech talked about our troops and how much of a sacrifice they've made. He had a great appreciation for them for everything they've done in order for America to maintain its freedom. You can tell he loves America and wants to do everything he can to make this country the greatest it can be.
Obama informed us that the war in Iraq is officially over. We are now sending out troops and are letting iraq people to take over their country's government. The US troops have taught iraqi soldiers how to fight and defend their government from the terrorists still living there.Obama goes on to say that he is proud of the troops and proud of how America is honoring their nation by being patriotic. "our troops are the steel in our ship of state, they give us confidence that our course is true."
My thoughts on Obama's speech.... At first i honestly thought it was simply a cover up to put many worried heads to rest. Everyone is worried about their loved ones over in Iraq. Now i think that since its over let Iraq grow as a nation on its own. We don't need to sacrifice our people to help them now. They should be able to handle it on their own like Obama said they are strong people. Bring our troops home to their families and loved ones. Let them grow into a democracy we shouldn't have to babysit them. Or maybe its just a plan to make sure that they stick with the democracy. We shouldn't have even forced them into a democracy! But hey... Cant turn back now. I hope that our troops stay safe and come home soon.
President Obama talked about how all combat missions in Iraq have been put to a stop. They've closed all bases in Iraq and taken away tons of equipment. The Iraqi government is their own problem now. Although, the US will stay good allies with Iraq and act as a supporter. Obama believes the Iraqi people will be able to over come their differences and make their own democracy.
president Obama is speaking about taking the troops out of iraq. also is talking about the millitary and the familys of the soilders. our troops gave the chance of a better government for iraq. the troops get to go home to there familys the war in iraq is over which i think is a great thing.
In this speech President Obama adresses many things of impotance. He has told us that the war in Irag is now over. He shows how he greatly apprecites the troops for the work that they've put in. We've done our job in Irag and now it's time for us to let our soldiers return home. This speech was very informative of what is going on. For a seventeen minute speech Obama covered a lot.
President Obama's speech was more informational than persuading. He spoke on the foreign and domestic policy and his great respect and appreciation for the troops. He then talked about "turning a new page." Mission Iraq is over and he gives his best wishes but it is now time for them to step up because we have done all that we can do.
I agree with Aunjanna that this article was mostly informative and not persuasive. President Obama talked about how the war in Iraq is over and about the honor of the armed forces. He talked mostly about foreign and domestic policy.
The speech that Obama gave mostly gives out in formation that the troops have worked hard and honored their country and its to the piont to where they can come home. e also talked about how how the wars going and what iraq is trying to accomplish. This is a very informed speech and gave out alot of information.
