this article is very interesting. It shows how nature can widely affect the economy. People spending more and more money to change routes to and from england, and across europe.
The Europeans are losing $150 Million a day on oil? Thats insane, They need to find a way to get more oil so they don't lose that much in 1 day. Maybe finding new oil resources would help them alot.
This article is talking about how It is being estimated that between disruptions to business, entertainment, and schools - the wider European economy was suffering additional losses of at least $150 million dollars a day. This is happening because everything is expensive people are spending a good amount of money on taxis ,hotels ,food and many other things. maybe buy economizing more, there might be a solution.
This article is rough when it comes to money loss and gain. I don't know if it is good for the economy or bad. I mean it's bad for people obiviously but it's lookin really good for businesses. Personally I think these people should just go back home or to wherever they were trying to leave from and wait it out there until the ashes go away.
i serriously think that i would probaly be good for the people if they wait it out but umm all the people need to do is get some water wholes n spray but fa realz doe they need ta jus get out of where ever they at cause it could b worse the next time but them tryin ta leave will cost money witch the europeaans is losing.
This article is one of the examples of how nature can effect the economy. Since the volcano ash has prevented airplanes from being able to fly out the business for buses, trains, and rented cars or taxis has boomed. They are having to run more buses each day and have created more room for people to travel. The air lines on the other hand have lost millions of dollars because no one is using the air ports. Some people are staying in hotels which has also boosted their income along with restaurants and shops.
It appears that all of this ash is making people suffer financially due to hotel bills and food they didn't plan on getting because they're stuck. But the real losers are the airlines. They've lost an estimated of $200 million a day!!!..yea
losing so much is going to make their economy suffer.. and it will also effect the oil suppliers.. waiting out will make getting to work hard, and people will lose money. i think they have their work cut out for them, it'll be difficult to bounce back from this kind of loss. and to restore what they have lost, as well as any clean up that will follow this kind of a disaster
Nature has a large impact on the economy. Europe realized this after the volcanic eruption that created an ash cloud. Planes had to be canceled, trains delayed, and many tourists were kept out. This cost the economy millions of dollars. Especially in trying to help victims of the volcano.
The economy and nature obviously work together. Since the volcanic ash is in the air disrupting the air flights, i agree with jacwilliams7 when she says the buses, trains and other ways of transportation will sky rocket with business. I also believe people will be using cars as transportation so gas prices will rise, which benefits the oil companies.
Nature has a big effect on the economy, obviously. This volcanic ash has been holding up flights all over the world. Airplanes help transport goods and import goods therefor if we can't use airplanes less goods are being transported where they need to go.
The volcanic ash is creating many problems for people but it is a good thing for many buisnesses. many people have to spend a lot more money because they have to spend money that they weren't planning on spending. the airlines are losing a lot of money because people are finding other ways home. however other buisnesses are gaining money because they can't get home by the time they thought they were going to get home and have to stay somewhere.
This Shows that nature effects the economy big time. If something catastrophic happens, you have to pay alot of money to fix things so it effects the economy.
This is a huge effect in the economy. Its very interesting to see how much nature can effect the economy and prices. people are spending so much money that they probally didn't want to spend. People were expecting to be home at certain times, but are now stranded due to the delays of planes and other means of transportation. It is good for business their, but no for our economy as a whole. People are spending $150 millions dollars a day on things that they didn't expect to, such as more nights in a hotel, other tansportation tickets, food, phone calls, and etc. Hopefully someone will come up with a solution for this mess.
This is just a prime example of how nature can effect the economy. The European economy suffered greatly from this distruption. They lost $150 million dollars a day due to plane cancellations and so on..except I do think the European economy could bloom with the need for buses, trains, and hotel rooms.
This shows how much nature really can effect the economy. Europe lost $150 million dollars a day due to the volcanic eruption. Also because of the planes not being able to run they lost money from there imports and exports which slowed the european economy.
our wheather is a big factor in our economy in some states/countries the food in some place depends on the climate when snow is out stores get alot of money off selling salt.....whe n volcanic ash hits planes lose money cant jus fly threw up the but buses trains an boats are all things that will be needed so if you have those you can make money im kinda upset that the airlines are asking for compensation whe they'll make it back it happens companies lose money do to alot of things an this is one that we cant change so i dont think at all that they should get anything...a taxi don get paid when a blizzard comes unless salaries involved but who knows the fact....??????
this article is very interesting. i like how it shows how the nature effects the economy. also how it shows how much damage a natural disaster can cause. its as well interesting reading how europeans lose $150 million a day.
$150 Million a day, lost, is a whole lot of money. Europe is losing most of this money because of Air travel. This just shows how much nature can really effect the economy.
the power of nature dose amazing things and can cause major damage. because of the volcano blowing its top off many people are giving up a lot of money to fix what has been done, and that just goes to show u how nature affects the economy as much as people do.
This one that the nature can have a big impact on the economy. When something like this happen people spend a great amount of there money on how they can get away from this an how they are gonna eat an spend there nights
The way that nature is effecting the economy is crazy. In the article its says that a dentist spent like $3000 dollars just to get his family home from vacation. This is a good article and it shows even nature plays a big role in are economy.
The way that nature is effecting the economy is crazy. In the article its says that a dentist spent like $3000 dollars just to get his family home from vacation. This is a good article and it shows even nature plays a big role in are economy.
With the oil prices dropping and them not being able to get it out is hurting the economy. If it continues, the economy will start to get worse. And with the people stuck in the air port, thats making the government lose more money a day trying to get the planes off the ground.
This shows how nature can make a big turn in peoples lifes and can make it harder for them to do everything that they want to do.Also how this can effect the economy a lot with money loss and even worse with people losing more money then what they have to spend. So familys are having to take money out of there savings account to help there selfs out and get away from the disaster. So now the goverenment is going to have to help them the best the can at geting back on there feet and get going again.
"It is being estimated that between disruptions to business, entertainment, and schools - the wider European economy was suffering additional losses of at least $150 million dollars a day." I think all this is happening because lots of money on other stuff like food, hotel rooms and way more things.
I didn't think volcanic ash could affect the economy as much as it did. I also didnt think airlines were such a big role in the economy. I know i'd be very upset if i got stranded and couldn't afford a hotel or food.. The airlines cant do anything for their passengers? Thats crazy.
Europe is losing more than i though they would have. they lost 200 million on just airlines alone. this will be very difficult for them to get back to what they were before.
Its very interesting how one source can have so varied impacts. Airlines are losing profit, but at the same time other forms of transpertation are gaining profit. And behind this all some buisnesses are losing profit because their workers are stuck somewhere else.
Volcanic ash isn't cheap because people had spent a lot of money on hotel rooms, food, phone calls, and booking alternative travel routes. It had such an effect financially because there were airlines were probably delayed or canceled.
volcano ash is a bad thing cause it can burn people. it does take long to it goes through your skin. volcano ash is the worst thing to have right now cause we don't have that good of protection.
Natural disasters are inevitable. In our age of technology we must be able to dodge with ease every hit that it may throw at us. Airplanes are not our only means of transportation and a new method to travel during these kinds of crises are essential for the busy world of today. It's obvious this will take a toll on the European, even the world economy, but what can we do but hope that the situation, quite literally, clears up?
I thought this article was very interesting to read because i found out that the wider European economy was suffering additional losses of at least $150 million dollars a day. There were so many problems because of the ash.
will its hard wan nature hits somewhere things like tornados hurrecans all different things like that and after that people have to spend a lot of money cause of the dameg from tham and its hard to get things back to the way things where and than the economy has to spend money to were build house and bulidings
Nature has a larger impact on the economy than most of us thought. Europe realized this after the volcanic eruption that created an ash cloud. Flights were canceled, trains delayed, and many tourists were kept out. This natual disaster cost the economy millions of dollars in trying to help victims of the volcano and cancelling all flights across the atlantic ocean.
Nature does have alot to do with our economy. The earthquakes Tusanimi's hurricanes all've effected us is in some type of way. And now we have to worry about Volcanos. I bet the volcano effected people by higher gas prices, higher hotels and motels, food, and everyday needs.
People in Europe are getting grounded from their flights because of this volcanic ash making all of these people pay thousands of dollars and more just to get home or out of Norway. Its also killing the airlines having to have to pay 250 million dollars a day just to keep up with all of this.
Nature affects a lot in this world and especially things such as gas that are natural resources. So if you are losing $150 million a day on oil that is terrible. It can't be good for anyone! When you lose large amounts of something it takes a long time to get back up, sometimes it takes twice as long
This Is A Huge Effect On The Economy Because Nature Has A Lot Of Effect On The Economy And Sometimes We Don't Take That Into Consideration But When It Occurs Its A Shocker.
for the people and the enviroment this really sucks. but for the economy it could really help. i mean we need jobs. and this is a widespread problem that could create jobs.
with the eruptions and the things that are being destroyed that is taking a tole on what is happening to the money and why they have to spend so much. and them spending the money they do everyday doesnt help.
This article is very interesting like Shawglenn said....It shows the nature can widely affected the economy. people spending more and more money to change routes to and from england and across europe.
Nature can effect the economy like shown in this article. The amount of money they spend on oil though is insane and they might need new sources of it.
I never thought that volcano ash was business for some people. But as for the volcanic ash clouds it is affecting airlines and with the airlines not beig able to fly they are losing thousands and thousands of dollars.

The natural disaster causes problems for all who must cross its path but it could be beneficial to the economy do to all the money being spent unplanned. Hotels, airplane flights, food ect. but it would take alot of people spending i don't know if it effected enough to stimulate economy

You can't really do much in the way of natural disasters except cross your fingers and hope for the best. It's unfortunate to see some people profiting off these incidents, but if it makes money, by God someone will undoubtably try.
Nature kind of has an advantage on the world we never know what to expect from it. plus it can make or brake us. like with katrina it put so many people in debt..
i found this article to be very interesting. it proves that people will do anything to get what they want at any cost. even if that means spending thousands of dollars.
