Because Canada could use the economic boost, right? The Olympics is a sure fire way to do it. It's a bit of a double edged sword, because if it should tank (safe to say that's probably not the case) you'd end up deep in the debt hole, what with all the things the event needs to function. Here's to a glimmer of global unity!

well obviously the canadian economy will benefit from the olympics. especially if the seating ranges from $175 to $1,100 dollars and the stadium holds 60,000 seats... yeah. every seat in the stadium will be filled. maybe we should move the olympics to the u.s :)

the olympics is a world wide fling that a lot of people love to watch. an a lot of people go to it in person with all the great things they have to buy and eat were ever it is held will greatly benefit from the money. i've been to the olympics and all the stuff they have to buy and do is so werth the prices. so this year canada should bring in a great deal of money. for all the food bot and hotels are jammed packed. tickets for BC place go all the way up to $1,100 and there are about 60,000 people there a night if u do the math thats about $66,000,000 and thats just for BC place.

The canadians def. do benefit from the olympics because they're seating 60,000 seat which are between the prices of $175 to 1,000. Thats making 10 million dollars alone with just the seating.

The Olympics have to do with Economics because of the people that be attending the Olympics Especially the seating range an the stadium because the canada money move up fast each year people across 80 different nations comes there to watch the Olympics..

They has to be with the economic because a lot people see that sport and like to go there and everything is more expenses so that make a lot money to the economic.

Th Olympics will help out Canada a lot cause of all the money it can bring in from how much it can and does cost. Cause the Olympics cost lots of money and they need it so this will help them out for a good while but they will need to take this and use it to give them a boost so they can get a good start to a better economy. So then maybe sometime we should Bring it here so it can help us out and get us out of the big hole we are in.

Canadian benefit from the olympics because they are getting all the money spent on the seats at the olympics and they or like $175 to 1,000 per seat!!

The Olympics will help Canada with their economic problems. They are making 10 million just in seating for the opening. All the people coming up for the Olympics that are not part of the Olympics will help Canada's businesses get some money flowing in their business. Tickets range from $175 for seats in the back and over $1000 for up front seats.

olympics cause alot of economic boost cause the whole world works together and people make money off of it off of sponsers and everything

The olympics is expected to bring tourism, new visitors, and athletes help boost the economy. With the seats ranging from $175-$1,100 times 60,000 seats should bring in quite bit for their economy. Plus the money spent on local hotels, dining establishments and gifts the well needed boost should pay off.

I think the Olympics has a lot to do with economics. Canada has a lot of tourism and more expensive products.

The Olympics have a lot to do with the Economy. Because the winter Olympics are expected to attract thousands of new visitors, tourists, fans and athletes.
Ticket prices alone run from $175 up to $1,100 not only that their pulling $ 10 million dollars just for attendance.

Roof1619 said...

With the Olympics taking place in Canada they are gaining alot of tourists, athletes, families, and coaches. This is a way for them to charge more and know they will make more money. Raising the seat prices, but always making it tough on them, having to work overtime.

hdornon7 said...

Hosting the Olympics will cost Canada $1.76 billion, will could hurt them, but they pulled in $10 million for the opening ceremonies only. Currently, the cost for a single ticked for the closing ceremonies is going for $1600. It looks like Canada will have no trouble getting their money back, and making some extra.

eholbrook2426 said...

The Olympics have a lot to do with the economy. Prices keep rising. Just for a ticket to the hockey game is $1400!! Thats crazy. They have auctions for the highest bidder winning and the BC place will bring at least $20 million dollars just from the seat sales. Its obvious that the canadians do not benefit from this much.

The olympics have a lot to do with the economy. The olympics will bring in a lot of money in to the economy. It will bring is supposed to bring in 10 million dollars for the opening ceremonies alone. With all of the money that it will bring in with people personally attending the olympics it will bring in a lot more still with how many more millions will be watching on the television

cwilsonpd4 said...

The olympics will help Canada's economy. Yes, it will cost them about a million or so dollars but they will end up earning back what they spent. THey are getting a lot of income from the sitting alone.

nsetters said...

I think the Olympics will have a great impact on the Canada's economy. The Olympics will bring in large amounts of revenue with the large amount of seating.

The Olymics will give Canada a big boost in the incoming flow of money. I thought it was interesting how some of the ski resorts where the Olymics are taking place are foreclosing in the middle of the games. This shows how hard the economy has been but hopefully things will turn around for them with the abundance of tourists and athletes coming.

Canada will have to make some more money to gain a profit from the Olympics but it shouldn't be hard because many people worldwide watch the Olympics and the experience of attending is many peoples dream.

canada will definatly be boosted economically with the olympics... with the tickets, restraunts, hotels, and lots more the money will be coming in fast. Many people will spend money crazily at the olympics, and it will all go toward everything.

The Olympics have to do alot with the olympics, espically for Canada.Mainly because thats where it's located. So canada will be bringing in alot of money

The Olympics Have To Do With Economics Because They Bring In Alot Of Money To The Economy.. America Has To Be Able To Support The Olympics Because Countries From Everywhere Come To America To Compete In The Games And They Bring Alot Of Money Into Our Country.

"Ticket prices alone run from $175 CAD for a seat at BC Place up to $1,100 CAD for the best seat in the house at the Opening Ceremonies. Closing ceremonies prices are somewhat more modest, capping out at $775 for the top-tier seats. BC Place is the largest air-supported stadium anywhere in the world – and it holds about 60,000 seats. If you do the math, that’s pulling in over $10 million dollars just for attendance at the Opening Ceremonies alone."

Yes This is good, if the Olympics can get that much money from just the Opening Ceremonies. This would allow the Canadian economy to flow better in Canada. Trades with America would help also to get the economy back to normal.

a.nichole2010 said...

The canadian economy will benefit because of the olympics since the are charging so much per ticket in a stadium that seats 60,000 seats. And every seat will most likely be filled. Not only that but they will bring in money for hotels and parking too.

I believe the Olympics has a lot to do with economics. They supply entertainment worldwide. A lot of people watch the Olympics which then allows a lot of money to be transferred through broadcasting companies.

the olympics have to do alot with helping canadas economy. itll give them money through the seating an also itll bring in alot of people all over the world to see the olympics who will probably go out to eat an shop while there. some may even stay when its over.

There is no reason Canada's economy shouldn't get a boost from hosting the olympics! It's not even a gamble. No matter what, when it comes to the olympics people will pay for seats and it said they'd make almost ten million dollars for seating not to mention all the novelty items and beverages. On top of that they will have tons of tourism... Canada's set.

williamp said...

I think that selling the tickets these prices could help out any economy. a lot of people watch them and want to see them in person so its a good way to make money.

Sarah Turner said...

the olympics have to do with the economy in canada because people pay really good money for a seat at the olympics. people from all over go to see the olympics bringing business to hotels, restaurants, and other businesses in canada.

MA said...

The Canadians economy will benefit cause the seats are so pricey the are going to make so much money.

Whitney Patrick said...

The Olympics will affect the economy. Canada will most definitely benefit from this. With the prices that people will pay to watch the event, and buy food, gas money to get to Canada if their not from, and most likely a souvnier. Canada will bring in a lot of money.

CRice7 said...

The olympics costed Canada $1.76 billion, but with the high prices of tickets and the millions viewing it, they will make the money up. In the end their economy is greatly helped by hosting the Olympics.

tim honchul6 said...

will for one thing it has everything to do with economics because it takes a lot of money to get it stared and a place just like canada cause its where they always have it at

tsteele5 said...

Olympics have alot to do with the economy. They dont only spend money, the also make money. They make money by their sponser's, and television ratings. They also spend money by having it viewed on the t.v. So thats why the economy has to do with the olympics.

RHerrera5 said...

I think the olympics should be moved to a different location because so much people watch the game their might not be so much room and also the canadian economy will benefit from the olympics. i hope this can all work out.

NBogard said...

This is a nice boon to Canada's economy I mean if tickets range from $175 for a nose bleed seat and $1,100 dollars for a top-tier seat for the opening game then thats an economy booster right there. Also each event costs a substantial amount of money to go to each one so this does have a lot to do with the economy.

alanh7 said...

The Olympics are an international occasion that stirs up nationalism and patriotism. Pride will win over the people that are going to want to buy a seat and have chance at watching their country's representative(s) compete. This will obviously bring in a lot of money, profit even, if they manage to pay the cost of the Olympics

Bailee™ said...

The olympics have alot to do with Economics because so many people attend the olympics. Which brings in alot of money, as well as the food, the housing, the roundtrip and ect. All of the people from across the world, from many countries need each of these, so this should be very good for the economy and for the money throughout Canada.

The Olympics are basicly a boost for the ecnonmy their in. Canada is going to enjoy lots of tourism which will bring in a lot of out side money. canada would get money from the food, tickets, souveners, not to mention all the money the athletes will spend to be in top shape.

The olympics brings many people together to one location.. So it's very obvious that the host country will benefit from the attraction. In this yeas case that location will be canada. Seating expenses along with hotels food and tourist attractions like souvenirs will no doubt bring a lot of new money to canada.

the olympics don't really have a part in economics. All it is just each country see how better than each other. The olympics is where people go against other people over the globe. All it is just a sport that goes everywhere on the globe. The olympics just people who want to go against others from the other states.

The Olympics is a big deal world wide! Canada with benefit like everyone else said, the place is seating up to 60,000! So they're for sure going to be getting money. Just being able to seat 60,000 is a big money gainer. The olympics is a great way to get money so that is what it has to do with the economy.
