i think it an good thing that they have a surplus of pumpkin in ohio that mean they are going to be sale them to other states and bringing money into ohio. i don't think it would do that much for our economy but it would do something.

KYS5 said...

It's a good thing for all of the pumpkin growers in Ohio because they're going to make a lot of money this year. also it's really going to help our economy, even though it's not much.

good job weather! lol we finally got something good out of all the rain we had. this pumpkin surplus is going to be really good for farmers in ohio, also for kindergarten teachers who buy pumpkins for the little kids to play with. also, maybe other countries will contact ohio for pumpkins the fall since we have so many. this is just an addition to getting money circulating :)

I think it great that pumpkin crops are good this year... I love fall and that good to hear I love how the guy in the article says that price are going to be five cents lower that last year. What's the point. =] that's not that much lower.

briannab5 said...

i think though the weather was sucky this summer with all the rain, it ended up being a good thing in a way because of the fact that the pumpkin crops are good this fall.

Its a good thing that there will be a lot of pumpkins grown this year. There will be sales in other states which will bring money into ohio. Also farmers will make more money this year from the surplus.

RebekahW6 said...

I had no clue that Ohio was a major part in pumpkin production. That's awesome! Having a good crop this year means that in general, pumpkin prices will be lower this year which is good and farmers will make more money which will only help to stimulate the economy. Finally something good is happening to Ohio, who would have thought it would come from pumpkins?

Although I can't say I'm too happy about the weather we got this season, all the fall farmers out there must be thrilled! I remember last year my family didn't buy any pumpkins because the pumpkin farm in the Dayton area had little to no large sized pumpkins and what they did have was too expensive. This is a good example of circular flow because now that the farmers have reaped a bountiful harvest and have decreased their prices, now we as consumers will spend more which will allow them to use that money to prepare for next years crops.

kadieh6 said...

I am glad to hear Ohio has plenty of pumpkins for the fall season. The pumpkins will be a little bit cheaper because they were not bought from someone else. This is a good way for people to save a little bit of money. Although it was the rain and nothing the government did to make pumpkins a little cheaper, I am excited to hear about the good news.

For all of this pumpkin stuff countries all over the world are most definitely going to gain lots and lots and lots of money, and when they do it will help their economy grow just like the pumpkins.

I think its great that the sell of pumpkins is going to be good this year. Farmers will make more money , and other states might start buying are pumpkins and we could make even more money !!!!!!

KyleS6 said...

What a great thing to happen for Ohio and the croppers. We are up in production and looking to be strong for this year. Now the farmers can get their moneys worth and save up for next season!

ShelleyT6 said...

i agree. that is a great thing that there's more pumpkins this year. Most people really get into the Fall season and enjoy having pumpkins for decoration. And now that sales will go down from the surplus i think even more people will go out and get a pumpkin which is always good for the economy.

kara.m_xoxo said...

Well seems like all this yucky rain had a good cause!:]That means the people that are selling the pumpkins are going to earn some money to bring in Ohio. I think it's really good, but i don't think it'll improve anything by that much!

dross =] said...

since we have a surplus of pumpkins this year, more people will but more. this will increase the sales of the pumpkins and help the farmers get more money. prices are cheaper with the more you buy. good luck on getting rid of all the pumpkins =]

i think it's great that we have a surplus of pumpkins now we can bring some more money in to ohio by selling some of our surplus to other states, it might do more than we think.

msalser7 said...

I wasn't happy about the rain this summer. But this will help Ohio at least a little bit. Many times I go to buy pumpkins to carve and there are none that are big enough and if they are they're really expensive. Our fall season will be a lot better this year.

L.Howardperiod7 said...

The pumpkin surplus should help Ohio some because we'll be bringing in money from other places and people will want to buy a lot more pumpkins because they're so cheap. One thing is that I don't know how the money that farmers make affects the rest of Ohio.

Anonymous said...

Its really fortunate that we have all these pumpkins, and at the time of halloween. We all know how the kids go on field trips and get free pumpkins to take home, I'm sure that won't effect the revenue of the pumpkin sales this year.

Allyson said...

Ohio is finally known for something...pumpkins. The surplus of pumpkins will bring money into Ohio which will help us all out alot. And it may help the whole country. Hopefully this is the clearing of the recession,? and things will soon be a surplus in other countries and we can dig our way out.

Marilynツ said...

I think that the surplus, is an excellent thing, this will help farmers earn more money. The farmers will profit a few cents per pumpkin because of the dry weather this summer in some other places, which is a good thing because they get to export more instead of importing all/most of their crop.

Luke Sherron said...

I think it is a good thing that they are doing good this year. Maybe this will help the economy a little bit but I don't think pumpkins will help it that much. Its good for all the farmers growing pumpkins.

Alec said...

I couldn't help but notice that last year was a down year for pumpkins. It's good to hear that the pumpkin crop is up this year. You can expect to see alot of people up at places like Barn N Bunk purchasing pumpkins this fall.

JBiddle7 said...

I think that this is a good thing. Nature does not care about the economy, so it is good that this year there was a good harvest in this area.

Unfortunally, it might not be the same next year, but it could be.

It is good to hear that something good has come from the rainy weather we had this summer. More families will probably buy pumpkins this year because there will be a more plentiful supply and they will be cheaper. That is definitely exciting to little kids. I am glad for farmers that they don't have to buy their pumpkins from another location. It may even help out our economy a little bit.

Well this is pretty sweet. Pumpkins are something I never really thought Ohio would be specializing in. I am not one to like rain but if the weather can help us with the recession in anyway, then I'm all for the rainfall. That and pumpkin bread is awesome.

I've been keeping my eye on the pumpkin industry and watching the growth. Reading this article helps me be sure about the future for pumpkins. I've been thinking about buying some stocks in the pumpkin industry and now I'm more confident about what I should do.

the surplus of the pumpkins will definitely help the croppers and the economy. just another addition to helping the country gain more money which is always good.

This is a great thing that the pumpkin crop is good this year. It's going to hopefully help us and the economy get back on our feet. This is really going to help Ohio out a great deal. It's going to get more money into Ohio and help stimulate the economy. This is great!! :]

N_Squire said...

This is good news because the more pumpkins there are the lower the prices for them would be and that would make them more affordable for everyone. It would also help the farmers stay in business.

Heather said...

I think this will really help the farmers who grow pumpkins in Ohio. With the recession maybe its what they needed. I also think it will bring a huge profit into our state. More good things for us :]

Astimp7 said...

I have no idea Ohio was big on the pumpkin market. It's good to see Ohio getting a good amount of money.
Hopefully this will help local economy.

allysonl6 said...

I didn't really even notice that the price of pumpkins was up last year. Everything else was so high it didn't seem any different.
But I'm glad that Ohio is doing so well with growing their own pumpkins this year.
All the little kiddies can have their pumpkins =]

It is nice to hear something positive about Ohio. It's good news this will bring income into Ohio.

The state of Ohio is going to have a little bit of an ecnonomy boost from how many pumpkins will be sold to Ohians and other states. The population of pumpkins has went up again since 2007 after last year in 2008 being down, only producing half of what we had in 2007. This year is looking like another 2007 for Ohio. Hopefully it will help the economy some how and make it better for all of us.

celeste =] said...

hopefully the pumpkins will boost a part of the economy. maybe by creating jobs for the people who grow and sell the pumpkins. everybody loves a nice pumpkin. yay for a surplus!

I believe that its a great thing that the pumpkin crops are doing well this year. I would have never guessed that the bad weather this summer would lead to such great pumpkin crops. Lucky for the pumpkin farmers!

KayceeW5 said...

I'm glad we had all that rain even though it kept me from doing anything but the pumpkin crops were good and i like pumpkins. Now i can carve plenty pumpkins this year:) Hopefully the pumpkin surplus will help our economy a little bit.

jparks5 said...

To all the pumpkin growers and sellers out there, this might be a very good thing. Looks like we're going to have a smelly Halloween with all of the jack'o'lanterns being made now. It might help the economy a little bit, but thats still something.

JazminTH said...

Well, the benefits of the pumpkin surplus in Ohio are great. More pumpkin foods for thanksgiving and christmas and more props and decorations for halloween. Plus, Barn'N'Bunk is fairly close to us and it would be great for businesses in here to get better.

more pumpkins shouldn't hurt us. i know a lot of people who are big time halloween fans who like a good pumpkin. although I wasn't crazy about the weather this past summer, i guess there had to be a positive out of it all. this should help the economy in some ways.

pumpkin people rock! they are making good money for their pumpkins...fricshs pumpkin pie is the best this is going to help the economy because pumpkins are the spirit of fall!

it's great to see that the pumpkin sales are going to go up this year. This is a great thing for pumpkin growers in Ohio. It's going to be nice to see lots of people out at Barn N Bunk this year.

its nice to see money stay in ohio. It really is a good thing when mother nature can help out your states economy and supply plenty of pumpkins to carve for halloween :)

ChloeM6 said...

Well, at least Ohio has this going for us! We may not be notable for much, but we've got your pumpkins! Who knows? Maybe we'll earn a bump to our economy this way, which would be fantastic.

I think the people growing pumpkins are going to gain $$$ . that rain was a good cause !

Yay for pumpkins! They are fun to carve, their seeds are yummy, and they are hopefully helping to stimulate our economy. :)

A surplus in pumpkin for Ohio means more money for Ohio because they can sell to other states what we have left over. It's a win-win situation really. Also, the pumpkin farmers are really benefitting from this as well.

agg2011 said...

well at least we got something good from the rain. The pumpkins that is. But it is great that Ohio has a surplus of pumpkins so that maybe we could get money off of them from other states. That is like two positive things in one blog and i usually have to say something negative. ha
