I think what germany is doing is a great idea. though they are doing to be the leader in electric transportation, they will help the environment while they are at it. It is an economic disaster for them to be spending this much money on electric cars, they would probably be better off if they spanned it over more years or lowered their expectations.
I think the idea of electric cars is very significant. It will lead to an improvement in the overall economy. The demand on oil these days is one of the big reasons why we are in this recession. Germany has made big goals for their electric car success, but I think they're realistic. The U.S. should consider this idea. I'm all for it.
I agree i think what Germany plans on doing is a great idea. I mean how awesome would it be if we had electric cars instead of the gas powered engines polluting the air like crazy. The thing is though the really are spending a lot of money at one time. In a time like this it probably wouldn't be the best thing to spend your money on. But i really think its a great idea and would love to see electric cars around in the near future
I think that the idea of electric cars is the way of the future and a great way to help save the environment. Even though this is a big project with even bigger goals, I do believe that this can be achieved. However, electric cars are more likely to cost more money and citizens are more likely to spend more money on the cars, but in the long run it will be worth it if we can help stop the dependency on oil. I think that if these cars become successful that the U.S. should try it too.
First off, leaving an issue to the "next government" is simply irresponsible and something I simply can't agree with. As long as this government is pushing to eventually put electric cars on the market, it is responsible for finding ways to make these cars appealing and demanded by the general public. Second, an electric car may look absolutely amazing when its statistics (mpg, durability, etc.) are read off of paper, but what about the energy used to make and charge the battery? Are the methods used for making the cars also eco-friendly? What sort of resources (fuel, electricity, etc) are used in making the car? If the energy and resources used in manufacturing the car are more than saved in the car's lifetime, it simply isn't worth it. However, overall the idea of an electric car is brilliant and very forward-minded. Saving fuel and cutting down pollution may be the best way to help the planet and the economy.
I do not not think electric cars is a good idea. The cost for the consumers will go up to buy a car. Electric bills will go up because people are charging there cars every night in the garage. I personally think that it would be just as bad for the environment because as using gas because most electricity is made by burning coal and once the batteries are done, they will be thrown in a dump leaking battery acid into the ground. I personally disagree with this idea.
I believe that the idea of electric power cars is indeed an improvement over gas power cars. But with every new idea comes problems. One is the battery life. The more you use any rechargeable battery the more the battery "decay" over constant use. Slowly the battery will not be able to hold any charge. Also a concern is where are we going to obtain such amount of power. But it's not really a big concern as long as we build more power plants (hopefully eco safe). But ultimately electric cars is a step in the right direction and soon we will develop the technology to make them more better.
I think Germany's idea is a great idea. It makes a lot of sense. Gas prices are high and that is why many people are looking for different ways to power their cars (and other forms of transportation). I'm glad that Germay has cash for clunkers as well as us.
Certainly the idea of an electric car is a step in the right direction towards being more eco-friendly and lessening our dependency on oil, but where is all this energy going to be generated from? Just plug it into the wall? What about the electric bill, will it increase significantly?
The gas crisis is a crisis in more than one way. Not only are prices currently to high for comfort, by claiming that arabic's oil is ours is boiling more blood than crude in the terms of war. I myself as a main supporter of doing anything we can to go green, also can't stand the amounts of ozone killing gasses and smog that gas automobiles create. Electric cars are a brilliant idea. Not only do these babies move fast, but we will no longer have to barter/argue and waste valuble time and money getting oil from the people in Iraq. We also are saving the environment from potential eradication by lowering the amount of smog and CFC's cars generate. I am very pleased with president Obama's $2.4 billion fund towards the US generating our own models as well.
In consideration for the ecosystem, yes electric cars are a great idea. However if anyone thinks buying an electric car is a way to get out of paying for high gas prices I think this could be a much more expensive alternative. The car alone is going to have to make a person to more then just crack open the piggy bank for cash, but what about keeping the car charged? The cost of plugging it in every night might cost way more then paying at the pump every few days. What if you plan on going on vacation and your car is running low on power, are we going to start seeing energy stations across the street from gas stations? I think electric cars are a good idea to break the need for oil, but in a way could possibly create a new addiction. I can't decide my opinion on this matter. I'm torn between approval or disapproval.
I think that Germany is making a smart decision by investing in electric cars. Electric cars are the way of the future, especially with the demand on oil, and the gas prices these days. They will probably see a short-term loss with all of the money they are spending on this project, but they will reap the benefits long-term.
I believe electric cars are a great idea. It will greatly improve the environment and keep people from having to buy gas. Although Germany's goal is a large one, I think that it can definitely be achieved. I would love to see a lot more electric cars on the roads here in the United States.
I think Germany's idea of electric cars is a very good idea. It can save our environment. Also the demand in oil is gong up. The only bad thing i think is you cant drive while it raining.
I think the unfortunate thing about electric cars is they cost too much to buy. I think using more electric cars is the easiest way to reduce smog emissions.
Overall I approve of the idea of electric cars but, like everything else, there are pros and cons. It would be a great way to reduce, and maybe eventually completely stop, our dependency on oil. But it could potentially be even more expensive(electric bills, replacing batteries after time, price, etc.) than oil. I hope they make this work because it is a great idea and its the direction we should be going.
Germany's idea of electric cars is a very good idea. I agree that it will effect the economy in many ways. Although it may not always be for the better. While having electric cars will help out our environment, spending that much money in that little of time might effect their economy and spending very highly.

While having electric cars will help out our environment, spending that much money in that little of time might effect their economy and spending very highly.
I think that electric cars are both a good and a bad thing. the good things are that electric cars will help stop global warming, smog in cities, and spills and other accidents that happen with oil and other fluids of gas powered cars. However the bad things are that if you are low on power you might not be able to go somewhere you want to go because you need to charge it for the rest of the day. They also are spending more on getting people to buy new gas cars now with cash for clunkers but maybe they should wait on that and give it to people that are buying electric cars.
I think that the electric cars are a great idea. We have such a high demand for oil these days, and gas prices are so expensive. Having electronic cars will save some money, and improve the environment. This is a great idea, and hopefully this goal is achieved someday.
I would love to have an electric car. I'm sure the investment would be well worth it in the long run because I hate paying for gas. I think Germany is very ambitious in their goal for 1 Million cars by 2020 but that is a decade away and I hope they can achieve it. It will not only save a valuable natural resource but also help with global warming
I dont think the electric cars will be good. I know times are hard on gas and the prices will keep on rising. But just adding on another money waster would be stupid. Think about how the electricty bills would go up. And then if we get out of the recession i think we might get put back into another one. or we will just keep on digging a bigger hole.
Germany has an amazing idea about the electric cars. A big reason were in the recession is due to the use of cars and the gas prices. If the electric cars came into place that would erase alot of the pollution and do away with the recession.
Electric cars are a good idea to help the environment, but probly wouldn't improve much else. The idea of an electric car depends on which you'd rather pay for, gas or an electric bill. It also effects how far you want to travel, in a regular car you stop and pay for gas, on a long trip how would you get electricity for your car to keep going?
On one hand I think the idea of electric cars is a wonderful way to strengthen our economy and improve our environment. On the other hand, I do not think that electrical cars are going to clear up all of our economic blemishes. It would be very costly to try and replace gas powered cars and produce newer more efficient alternatives.
I don't understand why putting electric cars on the road is such a big deal. Yes, being Environmentally Friendly has been a big thing lately. But has anyone come up with any results of that? Is there really a difference? The electric car may seem cool at first, but not everyone, or barely anyone could afford it, because we all know it's already going to be a very high price. And imagine what that money could really be going to... Schools? More businesses? I mean...think of the possibilties.
I think that overall the electric cars are a good idea because of the effect it would have on the environment and the idea that people would no longer have to pay for gas. However, there should be renovations made to these vehicles. The electric cars take a very long time to get up to 60 MPH, which is not very appealing to all of the people who drive many miles on the highway throughout the day. If the electric cars were made more appealing to the buyer, then they would have a great effect on both the environment and the economy.
With the limited supply of oil that we have here in the United States, electric cars are a great investment. For all the eco-friendly people in the world, electric cars would be a must for them. The only problem with the electric cars are the electricity bill at the end of the month.
Stop Polluting the air, might I ask why now after all the previous years of this knowledge? I do not believe in the idea of electric cars at all. Electric bills already on the rise, they would just continue to rise with the charging in which these cars require. Therefore, Im all for A 454 Chevy which only gets 11 miles to the gallon. Oil is said to be the reason we are in Iraq,i disagree. I believe we are in Iraq still, simply because we (US) are imperialistic. Im drifting on to another topic hahaha. So this is my outlook on Electric cars.
I think this is a great idea, and that 1 million electric cars by 2020 is a good goal. The whole world is run by oil, and electric / hydrogen cars is the way to fix it.
I really like the idea of electric cars. They wont pollute the air and we wont have to spend money on high priced, expensive gas.Its a good idea, but at the same time Germany is spending money that they probably dont have. They shouldnt get in major debt over the issue, but at the same time its a great idea.If we had enough money the U.S. could get cars like that. There are a lot of positives and negatives on this issue.
Electric cars can be a huge but costly step in helping the economy. The demand of oil is really high, being a factor in causing this recession. The technology research is one of the greatest down falls to this idea.
I think the idea of electric cars is a great idea. Anything to make the economy better is always a plus. Oil is just becoming to high these days and is one of the many reasons why this is happening.
I think it is a good idea for German to put electric cars on the market. The only thing is, is it wort the money. Spending all that money just for cars seems like a waste to me. If any thing were to go wrong it put Germany in the bottom instead of on top in economics.
I like the fact that we are trying to reduce emissions in the atmosphere but I believe that we should try to move the manufactures to the United States. I believe that we shouldn't have anything else being imported over to us. We've had our fair share of foreign affairs and I don't believe we should involve ourselves in something of that sort again.
electric cars are a really good idea. but it does have its pros and cons. i mean it would lower polution so much but you would'nt be able to take long trips because your car might die. everything has is pro's and con's though.
Ithink that electric cars are a very good idea. They will not only help the environment but also our economy. Plus, with the way our oil supplies are we are running out of options. Also, considering that Germany is the economic power house of Europe, I think it's great.
I think electric vehicals can be good and bad. They seem fantastic to people who say gas prices are outragous, no more gas right? That's true but with charging the battery the electic bill goes up. So either way your spending the same amount of money and it's just about the same on the atmosphere electricity is just as bad as gas, both pollute the air. The investment in the research of batteries also is a good idea, because it will be necesary better long life batteries for those cars and have their own production. Electric cars are a good idea but it still in a problem to our society if we continue to use electric it possible we can repeat some of the problem we have with the gas automobiles we already have been dealing with for so many decades now....
