This article is for March 23rd.

We all love to collect things. What makes this item such a valuable treasure? What is your most precious item that you have collected? Would you ever part from it with a dollar value?

$317,200 is a lot of money for one comic book, I would never even imagine wasting so much money on such a worthless item, especially now during a recession. If anything though I would have waited to sell the comic book after the recession is over to make even more off of it. I would say that my Bible is my most precious item.

WOW! If we had this price we would all be in heaven. My most valuable treasure is probably a necklace my mother got for me on my 16th. I don't think I would ever give it up no matter what the case might be. I really love it and it would hurt me dearly if anything ever happened to it!

Just like the last article about the xbox, do not waste your money on dumb things like comic books.. especially right now when the economy is so bad. My "most valued treasure" is probably my blanket I've had since I was little.

i am not going to say much about this, except that if the person was willing to pay that much for a comic book that they most really love it.
my most precious item would have to be my bible and my guitar and if it were real rare to get and if i had money i would not really hesitate to pay as much and do as much as need to obtain it.
its not a bad idea that he bought when a recession is going on because that money is probably going to go in circulation and that helps out.

Ha .35 Cents? Thats Like Amazing. But Now To Pay $317,200 Is A Lot Of Money For One Comic Book, But People Would Be Crazy Enough To Go & Pay For It. My Most Treasured Item Is My Necklace & My Ring My Grandmother Bought For Me, Its Something That I Could Never Risk Losing Or Giving Up.

Dang he just made some money. The man paid .35 cents for it then sold it for $317,200 thats is a huge profit. I think i still would have held on to it because then price and demand would have went up plus it was in excellent condition you cant beat that. lol But I dont know the mans situation so anyways that was a good deal.

the profit the man made for a little comic book was pretty hot. buying something for 35 cents and selling it for $317,200 was quite the investment. For me, i dont think i could sell something that means alot to me. Im not in this to make the money. As boyce said, my Bible would be my most valuable posession. I dont think you can put a price on everything.

Wow! I'd like to go out and spend 35 cents on a fortune! I have a baseball card my grandpa gave me, i couldn't sell it for anything though, i spilled grape juice on it =]

WOW that is crazy!!! I would just love to go spend only 35 cents and get $317,200!! I dont think you can put a price on everything though. I couldnt get anything for my most valuable posessions because some of the most important things to me are my familys old pictures.

That is insane. $317,200 for a comic book? Granted, it would have sold for a lot more after this recession, but getting that much money now is great. It figures that someone from a band like System of a Down would buy it though. Seems quite typical in my opinion. My most treasured thing is probably this stuffed animal lamb my grandparents bought me in Ireland.

This is also way to much money for a comic. like the xbox, comics are cool. But not that cool.

Wow! I wish I had a perfect condition of anything in my house. That is insane! But I guess there are people out there willing to pay that much for a peice of paper.

An item's worth is totally dependent on how much the people who are interested in it are willing to pay. What is an insignificant comic book to me is the "Holy Grail" of comic books to a dedicated Superman fan. Personally, I don't really have a great connection to any of my "prized treasures". I understand that material things don't last forever, no matter how much you may want them to.

Depending on whether or not my most treasured item was collected and bought or made for me or from family. I may or may not sell it for a certain sum of money. If it were a collected item and i was offered a "generous sum" I may consider selling it. But, if it was a family heirloom I don't think i could bring myself to sell it.

i mean it is the first action comic featuring superman:) so i can see paying 300k for it. *then again superman is my boy* but to go from 35 cents to something so outrageous it was definitely a wise investment. thats the kind of profit larry is making in the stock game right now

Yeah, i would never pay that much for a comic book. especially if i knew the owner only paid .35 cents for it! I dont care how old it is lol. my most treasured thing is my car..my dad got it for me and we both fixed it up together and its a classic. so i dont think i'd ever sell it.

$317,200 is ridiculous. Just think if it would have been another hundred grand, like it would have been in a good economy. One of my most treasured things is a bracelet I made on a mission trip to Mexico with a bunch of little kids from a town in the middle of the mountains. It's just a piece of leather cord with some beads, nobody would ever want it, but I would never sell it.

wow wat a profit! u pay 35 cents for a comic book and sell it for $317,200. just goes to show that if u keep something in good shape and retain its value, u could make a huge profit

Aaron.L said...

That is alot of money for just a comic book especially during the recession. I guess when you really care about something price is no option. I really dont think i have a most precious item though.

Farzana said...

That was a pretty smart thing to sell the comic books since he got that much money, but if it were me i wouldnt sell something that valuable to me. I wouldnt care how much i'd get out of it, it would never be as special to anyone else.

Lorena said...

..thats awesome. he bought the comic for 35 cents and sold it for 317,200 dollars..i would probably start keeping valuable things and sell them for more in the future. My most valued treasure right now is the bracelet my friend gave me when we were still like 5 years old.

Man, I wish I was the dude that sold the comic book. The guy who bought must be dumb because nobody should ever spend so much money on something as worthless as a comic book. I really don't care that its considered "the holy grail" of comic books because its still a comic book and its not really that important.

Now after reading the article, i think i am going to search around my house and see what collectibles i could try selling. I think a lot of people can learn from this article and that is the value of products. If people can just wait long enough, the price of the item can be worth so much more than it is now. My most valued treasure would defiantly have to be my little white fur teddy bear. No way would ever sell that!

MLemmert said...

$317,200! Thats way too much money to spend on something like a comic book! Especially now more than ever because of the recession. I wish i was the guy that sold it! My most precious thing is an old hat of mine. It may not be important to anyone else but no amount of money could take it from me.

I wish that comic books were 35 cents when i was a kid. Maybe I would have collected them. My most valued treasure would probably be the necklace and ring I got from my 15th. I know that I wold never sell that because its something special thats been in my family for years.

Derreck59 said...

wow to go from 35 cents 300k that is crazy. the only thing i would pay that much for is something like a car, or a mini airplane a could ride in. a comic book is not worth that much money

CJohnson said...

I cannot believe someone would pay 317,200 for one comic book. But if you heart is in cartoons and everything about them i say go ahead and buy. With the recession how it is I cant see how you can spend money that much money for a comic book!!

l.danner@smama said...

i think that it would be outrageous to spend that much money on a comic book. when our country is in a recession our celebrities/ wealthy people tend to be a little more conservative with their money in respect to the millions of people struggling because seeing headlines like that frustrates the common person. my most valueable treasure would have to be my video games.
