Read this article about the specifics of our 1.7 Trillion Dollar Deficit. Comment on your opinion about it and your opinion how the Obama administration is handling this crisis.
$1.75 trillion is a lot of money. However, I think that the plans that the Obama administration have proposed will help the nation's economy recover. I support the proposals that have been made to save money, especially the one to hire additional IRS agents to police and collect a portion of an estimated $350 billion in uncollected taxes. That is a lot of tax money that could be put to use.
Obama seems to be spending a lot of money that we don't have. He continues to promote tax cuts and universal health care at great cost to the American debt. Yet he tries to counter it through programs that will supposedly collect taxes from corrupt businesses? In reality these IRS and police will target smaller and easier gains like those citizens who are debt because of high taxes and due to the lack of jobs and can't pay. This will only continue to hurt the common man. Corporations will get out of paying just like they always have. Also it states in the article a raise in taxes, how exactly are tax cuts from the stimulus and tax hikes both present in Obama's plan? It seems to me as if campaign promises have become unrealistic in the current economic situation. There just isn't money to pay for all of these wild and unnecessary programs.
$1.75 trillion dollars is alot. But I think that Obama's plan will work out, it may seem like he is spending alot of money that we dont have but in the end i believe it will pay off its just in a matter of time.
I know Obama is not on the best side of people anymore due to the fact $1.75 trillion dollars is a lot of money.I feel that overall this is what it best for our country and that his proposals will help us recover.! Everyone needs to wait awhile before getting upset; afterall good things take time.
Although spending $1.75 trillion seems unnecessary, in the article it mentioned a few ways in which we could gather some preliminary savings. The method that grabbed my attention was the one that mentioned hiring more IRS agents the police to gather roughly $350 billion in uncollected taxes. I guess sometimes we have to spend a little money to get things going.
I agree with Dylan that Obama does seem to be spending a lot of money that we don't have. But, you have to give a little to get a little. If we didn't do something, if we didn't take drastic measures every once in a while, then we would always be stuck in this rut. So, I mean I may not necessarily agree with spending all of this money all the time, if it can help out in the long run, then so be it. It just takes a little time.
Geeze. that is alot of money! I have faith in Obama though. Right now it seems like he's spending money that we dont have but I think things will turn out for the better. =)
I also have to agree with Dylan, Obama is spending a lot of money that we do not have. I feel like we are wasting a lot of money in programs that are not going to be useful and that this unnecessary spending is only going to cause problems for the future. I feel that Obama is only trying to fix the current problems fast by throwing a bunch of money at it and not looking at the affect they will have on the future generation.
I think that Obama is spending a lot of money that we dont have but like lauren said, we have to give a little to get a little. It will take time and we just have to be patient. Things will get better with time.
I do not think President Obama's plans are going to work. America does not have this kind of money to just be throwing around. Although I do agree that things have to get worse before they will get better, I think these plans are using too much money. And the national debt is........
Its alot of money being spent, but I have trust in Obama and if this plan is going to help out our nations economy then we have no choice. He is the president for a reason. I'm pretty sure the guy knows what he is doing.
I feel like this is one of those things where it's like we're gonna have to wait and see what happens. Yeah, $1.75 trillion is a lot of money, but who knows. Maybe this could work out for the best.
i think that Obama is spending to much money instead of trying to make the states gain. it is true that we all have to make sacrifices to rise up again, but can we afford it?
It seems like everything is counted by the trillion nowadays. Remember a couple articles ago when we were asked if we were becoming numb to numbers? I think this more than contributes to the point. At this point, I don't think that continuing to tack on huge numbers to our debt is the answer.
my opinion is that the 1.75 trillion is really needed in this economy today. That is alot of money that can go to certain things and really help out alot of people. The negative is that Obama is spending money that we don't really have. I feel like this should go along with the stimulus bill and make sure that obama and his administration aren't putting out to much unneeded money.
$1.75 trillion sounds a lot! He is spending money that we don't have. But all we can do now is to hope that Obama's plans will work. I am just glad he is doing something to help the country and eople should be thankful for that.

President Obama is spending a lot of money yes, but he knows what he is doing. After all you don't become president by being stupid. I am not it agreeance with President Obama's spending methods, but hopefully they work. Not much can be done now except waiting.

Being in trillions of debt is just insane. I wish we had the days of where $100,000 would be equal to today's millionaire; a soda out of a machine was a dime, movies were a nickel. I think at this point, no matter what President Obama does, we're still going to have tough times. Thinking about our future, it makes me cringe a little. Our generation is going to have a really tough time in college, and getting good paying jobs to support families in the coming 10-15 years. I wish our nation didn't waste so much money on policing the world.
Obama has spent more money in the first two months than any other president. Obviously it takes money to make money but 1.75 trillion dollars is so much! I hope things turn around for everones sake.
1.75 trillion is obviously a daunting number, but it's not all "spending" as everyone is so quick to say, but more a form of investment. In response to Dylan's comment about cutting taxes and raising taxes at the same time, Obama is cutting taxes for the lower and middle class for the reasons you stated because taxing a broke man without a job is like beating a dead horse, but he going to raise taxes on those who can afford to have taxes raised. It's about time the pay their fair share and there shouldn't be much complaint from them unless, that is, if they don't want to help out their fellow Americans. We all have to do our part.
All this money seems to just be coming out of no where and not only that we are spending all this money and are not achieving results yet. I cant judge Obama's plans so early on in the process but the money just seems to be appearing out of no where it would be nice to know where it is coming from.
Obama knows what he is doing about the money spending. His ideas that he has about change, is going to cost alot of money, nothing is free in this world, he is the persident so he will work it out.
1.75 trillion dollars is a lot of money that the United States doesn't seem to have right now. Obama had said that he would lower taxes and help the common man. Not just corporations. Although, now that he is in office, slowly but surely... taxes a re going up and corporations are receiving bailouts with taxpayers money that is being used for personal gain! I disagree with the majority of things obama is doing and am waiting to see how it all pans out.
It does seem kind of dumb to have to spend all of that money when we are already in a huge debt. But I guess sometimes you do have to make sacrifices and wait a while to get things done. Hopefully Obama knows what he is talking about and can save us.
Obviously, Obama is spending a lot of money. The one thing that caught my attention the most was the $750 billion he is setting aside for the banks in case they need more capital to survive. I think that was a good idea, unfortunately the money being sent to numerous programs seems too much and only leaves the public questioning 'do we really have the money to do all this?'
Even though 1.75 trillion dollars is a huge ammount of money, I think we need to just have faith in Obama and let him do his thing and hopefully in the end everything will be better.
theres just not enough money *leave me alone rob.* we need to find a solution without spending the trillions of dollars that obama wants to spend. i just dont think that the people have enough money to bail out America right now. which is what they want us to do.
$1.75 is a hefty sum of cash. As we can tell from the past 8 years tax cuts for the rich havent worked. The method that grabbed my attention was the one that mentioned hiring more IRS agents the police to gather roughly $350 billion in uncollected taxes. I feel this is one method that we can try to help this deficit go down.
I think that even though we have been spending alot of money that we don't have it all work out in the end because Obama really does have a strong knowledge of what he is doing and what he is doing will work out in the end because we will get money in return.
As long as our economy gets out of the crapper i think obama can spend how ever much it takes. i really don't see a problem with 1.75 trillion as long as it benefits our economy.
It's pretty normal for people to get upset when they find out 1.75 trillion dollars is being spent, but people should also realize that being negative helps nothing. this money could actually help alot.

This 1.75 trillion will be i nice plan even tho its a lot of money it will work you have to try different plans to find the right one to work.
Barack Obama I think know what he is doing. although $1.75 trillion dollars is a lot of money, you have to believe in what he is doing.

I think this is a smart step in recovering the economy. i just hope they do it right that way it doesnt make things worst
$1.75 trillion! That's a lot of money to bargain with, but I think that Obama's plans that he has proposed will help the economy grow and recover.
