In my opinion, the bill is a necessary step to take in order to "jump start" the economy. I can say that I would much rather see a steady paced stimulus than an overwhelming $819 billion package. I suppose that I am with the Republicans on reducing the bill's spending.
I'm glad that something is being done to help the economic situation. Democrats will need 60 votes to pass the package in the Senate, 2 of those being from Republicans. Hopefully the $819 billion stimulus bill passes and the economy will begin to improve.
Im glad something is being done to fix the economic problems we are having. Hopefully the economy will start to get better if this bill ends up passing by getting the 60 votes.
I feel that throwing $819 billion into the economy all at once isn't going to magically fix it. The stimulus package needs to be set up for a long period of time. I also feel that when people get their tax cuts that they will hoard the money given to them. That would be a major backfire to the already hurting economy.
I think that something, anything needs to be done to help the economy. Inevitably, some ideas are going to fail, and some will work. This $819 billion package might not work immediately, but we need to be patient. Something will happen...as long as 60 votes are gotten.
I do not believe the $819 billion stimulus bill will immediately solve all our problems. I feel that it is a gradual effect and that it needs to be taken in a slower pace like the republicans said.
I think the stimulus package is good idea to get the country moving again, but if every single Republican voted against it, there's got to be more that can be done. I don't think every single one of the Republicans in the House just decided to say no just beacuase they are Republicans. I think after changes have been made, it should work out.
I think that in order to help get out of this recession or "jump start" the economy we do need a stimulus bill. I however don't think that a whopping $920 billion, which the stimulus is at now will help because of where some of this money will be going to. We need a stimulus bill that will be spread out, instead of direct action in my opinion. Republicans don't agree with this for a reason, none of them voted for it so something has to be wrong. I'm with the Republicans side with this bill.
I agree with corey on this one i am with the reducing the bills spending. I also agree that it is a necessity to jump start the economy though there are other ways. If i had more time and patience i would go into detail but i am not.
While Barack Obama and the Democrats feel high spending will help it is extremely apparent there is a divide in the house. Almost no Republicans voted for and so I think it is obvious that we should take another looking at this plan. It is sad to see a President and congress who preached bipartisan support use there majority to push through laws. Perhaps a better compromise on spending and tax cuts should be made?
I think the $819 billion stimulus bill might have a chance to help our economy. But i hope it would help a lot so that we can get out from all these crisis.
I think it needs to pass. No it will not fix everything, nor make America perfect again. But something has to be done. and to those who say the Dems arent following up on their bipartisan ship promise, I cant blame the Dems, i would hope they wouldnt change their policies and beliefs just to get right with the public. They have 4 years to reach across the aisle. When it comes to something this big as trying to get the economy going again, they might as well try it thier way, as we can all see, tax cuts havent worked for the last eight years...
I think this bill should be passed. I think its amazing that so far we really haven't heard the input from the House of Reps and that we will need 2 of their votes to pass this bill. I do understand that's a lot of money to start out with, but I also think it's for the good.... We need something like that to get us a jump start on getting this recession together! I really hope it passes!
i think the bill has both good and bad traits to it. Yes it will get our economy back on the right track but it is also alot of money at one time. Hopefully it will be the start of the end of this recession.
I'm happy to see that the steps to "jump start" the economy are being taken, I just think that an $819 billion bill is a little much and they should try to reduce the spending. I also think there might be something wrong if no Republicans voted for it.
I agree that a package is needed but it seems to me as though Prez obama is trying to force this bill through so quickly that it is becoming a bill of just pork. Everyone wants a piece of the pie and its pushing us further into debt. And without bipartisan support this is going to keep happening in other situations.
I think the bill will be a good step for helping the economy. altho i think that the spending should be reduced little bit. 819 billion is a whole lot.
I think this bill is a good thing because its one of the first times we've ever tried to do something like this. Hopefully a change in what we do will make a change for the better and not for the worse.
I'm sure that this bill will create tons of jobs and put our economy back on the map. This bill could be the first big step in saving our economic situation. Hopefully it gets all the votes it needs.
Haha, well this happened a while ago.. But it's missing on my grade print out. Anyways, I really hope Obama can do something about our economy before it gets way worse than it already is. Everyone is suffering from it.
Hopefully we see results from the stimulus sooner rather than later because America needs it and America needs the jobs that come with it considering the unemployment rate.
I'm glad that there was at least a plan conduct to solve the issue that our economy is in. I dont feel that it will fix all the issues that are occurring but i do feel its a great start.

I trust Obama. I'm pretty sure he knows what he is doing. It is, however, being used to get us out of the economic recession. I support it.
Im excited for the new bill. i just hope that it gets used for the right reasons, so all that money isnt just wasted
I think it will help the economy because people will have more money to buy things with. Like friggin' huge plasma screen TVs.
im glad our economy does get this cause it support an helps the ppl in need but i wish we teenagers would get them.
