That's really scary how unemployment jumped 7.2%. Now it seems like it is just going to get harder to find a job. Especially those who are graduating. This has not really effected me for I did find a job working for my uncle this year. Although by the time I graduate high school, I am sure this rate will fall by then and I wont need to worry about finding a decent job...hopefully!

It is rather frightening that the umployment jumped to 7.2% in Ohio alone. It's sad when the national average was 5.7%. Thankfully, this hasn't affected me because Im not looking for a job, nor do I have one. But for all those who have graduated... I feel really bad for them. Hopefully by the time I graduate it won't be as bad, but you never know.

Since the companies are getting tighter on money, as we all are, they aren't going to hire anymore people. My neighbor is a carpenter, and he got laid off at the beginning of the year because the whole construction industry has shut down, mainly due to foreclosure. There isn't a need for new houses built. My mom just recently joined in the construction business for a masonry supply company. There have been several lay offs in the past month. The companies just can't afford to keep all of these employees and things will only get worse from here. I wouldn't be surprised to see the unemployment rate spike again.

This is very alarming that the umployment jumped to 7.2% in Ohio alone. It's even worse that the national average was 5.7%. I cant say this has effected me, however mu uncles business that he worked for just closed up about two weeks ago due to ack of work for the employers to do. I currently am employed at a job I have been at for going on two years now and am not looking to be employed anywhere else. On the other hand, I do feel for the people who are now jobless and who have to go out and ind themselves a way of employment.

Wow! The national average unemployment is 5.7$, and Ohio's is all the way up to 7.2%. Even though i'm currently employed, this really doesn't effect me. The only thing I've noticed happening is more and more people are coming in for applications.

I haven't been affected by this myself, yet, because I haven't looked for a job recently, but its worrying as I will soon enough. The number of unemployed tripling (96000 vs 334000) in the last year is especially surprising, and the possibility of the trend continuing is worrying.

I have had ajob since i was 14 at a pool company. I avoid this unemployment because i do a specailized job that you have to be trained in. Lifeguarding. Working at fastfood is touchy. AN example is. Our marching band went to band camp for 5 days. when we came back we found out that fazolies closed down where one of our friends worked and he had no clue because he was with us. and that lonestar caught on fire. those people have no job. and those are older people that work at those places. i hope they have luck in finding jobs!

I do know one person that this has affected and another that it will effect here in a couple months. If people don't get business they don't need as many people. The supplier has to make enough and if the demander doesn't want to pay enough someone will get fired. It is as simple as that.

Unemployment in Ohio jumped again in July to 7.2 percent, up from 6.6percent in June. Thats a huge jump if you asked me. Here is my question though. Is this because of the ecomony or is it because people are too lazy? I have seen some people that were just too lazy and really just did not care about getting jobs. This could be a major reason as to why the unemployment rate rose.

The unemployment jumping to 7.2% has effected alot of people I know. I Know people that have been out of jobs for months, and if its hard for them then its going to be even harder for the kids just getting out of school.

I do not happen to know anybody that has been affected by this. I mean I did have to look around a while for a job but once I found it they were already giving me awesome hours.

7.2% is scary. especially since that is just in ohio! i haven't been personally affected by this. us teenagers now are just looking for a little extra cash, i worry about the graduates who are out looking for a job to support themselves, and some families!

7.2% is nuts! Although this has not effected me, because i have had 2 steady jobs. This is most likely because im still a teen, but in later years this will most likely affect me. My dads friend has been layed off his job that he had for 20 some years, this goes to show.

Prior to the spike in the percentage, it was already difficult to find jobs. With ot now being at 7.2% I'm not sure how alot of people/families/students will do in the coming months, maybe even years. Hopefully, things begin to improve soon. Preferably before I'm through with college.

Another unemployment issue for us that are going to be graduating. This is going to be a problem for those of us who stay in Ohio for collage and work after that. I may not stay for either of those since i want to go to USC for college but who knows how unemployment is looking everywhere else
