I saw the movie Saturday night after it came out at Danbarry. There was hardly any wait and it was the 7:20 showing. We got there at 7 and walked right in. Seats filled up fairly quickly, but it still wasn't full. And we only paid the $7.50 that the theatre charges. I think it's ridiculous that people are willing to pay 150 dollars to see it. They should just drive to a theatre in a smaller town and see it there. Sure, maybe not as nice, but the same movie non the less.
Even fifty dollars is ridiculous for a movie ticket. I don't even bother going to see movies much. My question is did the fans just pay $150 for tickets to see Heath Ledger's last movie? While the high priced tickets in New York are giving theaters extra profit, that didn't happen here. I did see the movie despite my opposal. I went with my boyfriend because he wanted to see it. It wasn't very crowded and we actually got in for free. We went on a Thursday night and wanted to see the earlier show, however they weren't showing the 7:20 show, and let us in free for the later show. I think I got a better deal than the loyal fans in New York!
$150 for a movie ticket?? That's insane. I didn't go and see Batman, and I don't plan to. But any movie that I do plan on seeing, I wouldn't spend more than the standard price of $7.50 at Danbarry. Those people should have some patience. With $150, after the movie has been out for a while, they could buy several copies of it for themselves. But I guess if you have that kind of money to waste go for it.
I didn't see it, but that it crazy why someone would pay $150 to see a movie. I guess that shows how demand & supply affect prices. The highest price I have ever paid was $12 at this overpriced theatre in Cali. I would pay no more than that for anything.
I would just wait a little bit and go when I could get a seat, or go to a different theatre. Or, you could just wait until someone uploaded it on youtube.
Paying 50 dollars for a movie is CRAZY! I would NEVER pay that much for any movie! I'd much rather wait a little and get a better deal. At Danbarry you can get in for 5 dollars or up. I guess some people may have payed that much to watch Heath Ledger's last movie. I don't think that paying 50 dollars or more for a movie that only lasts for about 2 hours is worth it.
First of all, didn't any of you see that at some movie theatres like in New York, the regular price is $11? To me, that alone is outrageous. But, $50, $100, $150? Wow, for a movie? No way. People have been waiting for this movie for three years, couldn't they wait a little longer until it goes on movies on demand and rent it for about $4? What is the big deal of this movie anyway? Maybe because it was Heath Ledger's last movie before his death. But still, it is reassuring that people can want something so bad that they would do practically anything for it. That takes a lot of heart. And we do have to acknowledge them for that. I'm sure if you wanted somehting so badly, you would do anything for it, at all costs.
I think its ridiculous for people to pay $150 dollars to go and see a movie when they can wait till its come out on DVD. Batman is not that important at least to me, but maybe too some people it is, I pay $7.50 to see a movie at Danberry Cinemas now $150 is too much.
I saw Batman in Chicago about a week after it came out. I walked in 10 minutes before the movie and saw this big movie theater with all the works and not one seat was available except for the first two rows in the front. Is this movie worth $150?... not so much. Although it was a great movie, there is no way I would pay $150 to go see it. Especially if i had to sit in the front row.
I think it's insane that people are paying so much to see a movie that, in other places, you can see for much less. 150$ to see batman? Why not drive a few miles and see it for less than 8$?
i still havent seen the dark knight yet but a bunch of my friends have and what they tell me i should really go see it. Even with all the hype and everything i wouldnt pay $150 to go see it. even the $10 tickets at the rave are a bit too pricey for me.im fine with the $7.50 tickets at danbarry
I went to see the movie the following weekend after it came out in Chicago for $10 per ticket. Although it was difficult to find a decent seat, I still found a seat. I don't understand why anyone would pay $150 to see any movie, when you can just wait a few days or weeks to see the movie for a cheaper price. I guess for the people who are die hard fans "time is money" though.
I saw the movie last Saturday night at Danbarry and my boyfriend paid ended up only paying $15 for both tickets, making it $7.50 each. I thought the movie was really good but i could never imagine spending $150 for a ticket. That is outrageous.
I think that paying $7.50 for a movie is a bit too much, but paying $100, thats just insane. I just don't understand why you would pay so much to see a movie. I agree with Tonaya about waiting for it to come out on DVD. I mean, you could go check it out from the library for free if you just wait a month or two.
With $150 I could see all 10 movies at danbarry twice. So why would anyone pay that much for just one movie? It doesn't make any sense to me. People even had to wait weeks before they could see it anyway, so why not wait a few weeks and pay $11?
I saw The Dark Knight on opening night at 10pm. My friends and I got there an hour before the movie started, and there was no line to get tickets. However, around 9:20-9:30 there was a line to get into the screens part to see the movie. I believe it was worth the $7.50 I paid to get in. (Heath Ledger was an amazing actor)
However, I would not pay upwards to $150 to see The Dark Knight, but I can see why some people would. Heath Ledger's death created a lot of buzz about the movie, and many die-hard Heath fans probably would pay that much to see his final film(which in my opinion was amazing).
The highest price I've ever paid for a concert was around $50 bucks, and they weren't even great seats.
I do believe the price of entertain is a bit crazy at times, but if you're quite the enthusiast, paying the price is no big deal. I think also that people hosting the events and selling the tickets are taking advantage if those extreme enthusiasts just to make money, to see how far someone would go. It is unfair to those who like the band or movie or event, but don't have the money but oh well.
Well Heath Ledger's death obviously had a lot to do with the prices of the movie because he was a great actor and that was his last movie. People would pay money to see his last movie considering his tragic death. I guess people are that cold to raise prices of a movie on account of an actors death.
I paid like $9 or however much the Rave charges and I loved this movie. I think it is kind of crazy that people are willing to pay that much money just to see the it. But if I had the money to waste and I was a very large fan of Batman and that hottie Heath Ledger, then I'd pay.
Well if you are a billionaire paying $150 for a movie ticket is nothing. Unfortunately, I am not one of them and $150 is just RIDICULOUS! Although I think many were willing to pay that much just to see Heath Ledger one last time. I was a fan of Heath Ledger myself, but I at least have the patience to wait until the movie comes out on DVD. If people would just have the patience to wait and not demand everything all at once, they would save so much money.
Spending $150 on a movie ticket is definitely not on my list of things to accomplish. I feel that it is a bit ridiculous to go to such lengths to see a movie. Patience is a virtue and a money saver in this case. It won't be too long before they are able to put this movie out on DVD. High demand to see this movie is certainly making money for ticket sellers everywhere.
Looking at this from another perspective I think that even tough I would never pay for a movie at $150 dollars, there are many people out there that are huge fans of
Batman and will pay much higher prices to see this movie. So when I think it over its actually really smart on who ever set the price. Because even tough its really expensive there are still going to be people that are going to see this movie and they are still going to get money anyways.
i have not seen Dark Knight and nor do I plan too. However when I do go to the movies I would not spend more than $7.50 to watch a movie that will be coming out in DVD within two or three months. I believe the fans in New York are overly obsessed if they are willing to pay $150.00 to watch a movie that if they waited a few months they could own a copy for themselves.
You must be kidding! $150.00 for one ticket?! To see a movie that only lasts a few hours?! I have not seen the new Batman movie yet but I really want to. I just plan on going to our little town theater to watch it, (there is never really a line) and pay $7.50 I even think that is sort of high priced sometimes...
I think the statistics for the movie are impressive. And if people want to pay that much to see it more power to them. personally, I don't have that much money to waste but they obviously do and are big fans. I think it's only a testament to the actors abilities and the producers work.
Paying $150 dollars to see a movie is ridiculous, in a few months it will be out on DVD. I don't go to see movies that much anyway but if I do $7.50 is about the price that a movie ticket would cost. I think that $150 a ticket is just too much.
This article is hilarious to me because I spent only four dollars at the theater in Lebanon to see it. It was extremely packed and I was sitting in the first row and had to look straight up at the screen for two and a half hours, but it was absolutely worth it. Spending fifty dollars on a movie ticket is ridiculous, just wait for it to come out on DVD!
I would never in my life pay more then $10 to see any movie! I paid $9.50 at the Rave to see it, and the theater was completly full. I mean it was good, but not the best.
I didn't see the Dark Knight and don't really intend too. But $150 is rather excessive, to say the least, I think. You see, this is why patience and a Netflix subscription are a combination made of win.
These people are probably trying to see this movie in big cities. In our town the most buzz you got out of the new movie was the 12:00 night showing. And even then it wasnt full. The people that are selling these tickets on craigs list got lucky that there was people willing to buy these expensive tickets.
I think paying 150 dollars for a movie ticket is so crazy. I don't even watch movies that much but even if i did i would never pay that much. And what if you didn't like the movie? I bet you are gonna regret paying that much money for the movie huh?
Instead of paying $150 dollars in one city drive a half hour and see it for way cheaper. This is just like when people pre order video games for 20 dollars plus the cost of the game. Why not wait another week. It is clearly not worth it.
Yes I have seen THE DARK KNIGHT it was a great movie. It was worth standing in line for and paying for it. I think its crazy to pay up to $150 for a movie but you have die hard fans for batman. I think someone my friends including myself would pay over $20 dollars to see the movie a month earlyer. But up to $100 dollars a ticket is crazy. But it would be worth it for somew fans becuase it was a great excelent movie.
ha. $150 dollars for a movie ticket? EVen though i saw The Dark Night and I absolutely loved it, there is no way i would pay this amount for a movie ticket. I pay $7.50 and personally i think thats a bit pricey. People must be absolute die hards or at least wealthy to make this happen
I dont know about anyone else but there is a theater in Lebanon and I got in and sat down fairly easy with my ten friends and we each only spent four dollars on a ticket. I definantly cant see myself paying anymore than that on a movie ticket.
$150 for a movie ticket? Wow that's ridiculous. I could just wait until the dvd comes out and i could buy the dvd and i can watch the movie over and over again, as many as i want. I can't believe people are actually paying that much just to see a movie. They should focus on their needs and stop spending so much on something they don't have to have.
