Iran said what about Barbie?

Ever wonder what other countries think of Barbie? Do you agree with this article?

I can see where they can think that the dressing of Barbie is a little exposing, due to their ways of living but I dont see how a toy can be destructing. I dont belive that it will destructing in anyway what so ever.

It is a valid point. However, it's too extreme. A Barbie doll is not going to influence me for the rest of my life. I do think that there could be subliminal messages sent to the daughter playing with these dolls if nothing is said about the clothing. But all it would take is a parent saying to the daughter that they do not approve of the dress. That would be far more helpful than ruining I child's imagination.

The Iranian people might have a small point or they are just plain brilliant. I meen come, they tell their contry not to buy Barbies, Batman, and other figures and Iran decides that they are going to launch their own marketing idea with their toys. So now Iranian's are going to buy Iran toys instead of American made toys. Just Brilliant. America should do the same with all Chinese made goods. But then I guess we (Americans) would not have anything else to buy.

There is a good point made but i agree with spencer. It is a parents responsibility to teach their child how to dress. Not a dolls' responsibility. Besides almost everyone who plays with a barbie ends up taking the clothes off at some point anyways. Then as kids get older... they put fire works inside of the barbies' heads.

People are getting too mad about something thats not a big deal. The way a barbie is dressed most likely isnt going to influence a kid. and if it does then its the parents job to make sure they aren't getting influenced by a toy.
