Remember Mrs Rowland Is Watching The Site

Mrs. Rowland says hi and don't forget to post comments this weekend. Make sure that your comments are school appropriate and related to the topic. It is fine to have conversation back and forth and yes you can have fun doing that. Please refrain from calling each other names, even in fun (it is just not nice and very un-economics club like) With Love Mrs. Rowland

Remember, Mrs. Rowland is watching.

I honestly do not see how this whole "blogging with you" thing is related to school or econ..
but if we get extra credit for it...
i guess it's all good.

Katie, thank you for being honest about not sure how the blogging and reading the articles relates to Economics. The articles that I am choosing are all articles that are economics based. Remember how I have shared current events from the daily news with the class. The articles that I have shared all had a common theme......Economics. Most students think Economics is just about money, it is far more than that. We will studying a variety of concepts. We will be studying types of businesses for example, thus the articles about Frito Lay, McDonalds and Nick. We will be studying supply and demand (thus the article about price of baseball that sold and the watch article) Role of Government etc.....
My hope is that we can bring some of these topics to life by looking at real examples of Economics in current events. My hope is that students will grasp a much deeper understanding of Economics by realizing how much it plays in our every day life. Thanks for your honesty and I hope this helps. If not, see me in class and we will talk further.

Hi Tariz,
No I'm sorry to do well in class we must also learn Economics. :) We will have more simulations in class to go along with the lesson of the day....it always helps to see Economics, rather than just talk about it. Less tests? Sorry. we have to show we got it! You will do fine.
