This article is the first article for second semester 2010-2011 school year. Due Date is January 10th. Please read article and summarize it's main points and state your opinion about it's contents.
I think this article is amazing. Five states going up to four dollars a gallon by memorial day, yea thats a lot but then again it's not all of the states.Im sure eventually we all will, but at the moment we just need to watch our spending and use on gas. This is something we all can control. The rise of gasoline will keep rising so theres no reason to complain. And most likely the United States will always be the country to use to most gas.
"Gas Prices for 2011" is probably not one of my favorite articles. The fact that gas prices are rising is not good because the economy is already in a terrible state and this will not help. I feel like it's supporting the gas prices rising and not degrading the fact. Motorists paying an extra $750 a year for gas is not okay, they can't afford it. There has to be an answer or compromise somewhere to fix this problem. Why only 15 states? Why not all fifty? Something isn't adding up. Also, why is BP one of the top 5 gas stations. After causing the world's largest oil spill, shouldn't all BP stations be shut down? I don't understand anyone who would want to support them.
This article is crazy! Jus thinking that we're gonna have to spend $4 on gas is mind blowing. But like fifty years ago or whenever cars were first coming out gas was only 5 cents. That's 8 times the amount. Good thing I don't drive :). But it gets worse when they say we might spend $5 in 2012 ?!?!? The US is a beautiful place but dang just make us spend a paycheck on nothing but gas. I'm getting a electric scooter :)!! The US needs to start getting more efficient. Let's tie sheets to our cars and let the wing blow us to Liz destination. :))
What will we ever do when there is no more fossil fuels? This economy is just bad and when gas prices rise? It just gets worse. To think that prices will rise to 5$ A GALLON during 2012? It certainly is mind blowing to say the least. However who couldn't see this coming? Gas prices won't be going down so people should get used to it
This article is really eye opening and helpful to everybody. People think that our economy will slow down because of 4 to 5 dollars in gas prices. I dont think it will that much because after it rises it will most likely stay there for a little bit and help in the economy growth in the up coming years. So dont get down just get used to it and it will soon work its self out.
This article is obviously stating the raises of gas prices coming into the new year. How it could even go up past $4 in 15 different states. Then there's the fact that BP will still be making a wealthy profit even after their infamous oil spill.
IMO, it's not ridiculous. I agree that I don't want to pay that much for gas, but if the price for barrels of gas rises, what do you think their going to do for the price to distribute it. I may be breakin out the ol' bike this summer.
I think this article is ok they say that gas prices will go up but they always say gas prices go up its nothing new that the price is going up it fluctuates and is never stable they want to make money and gas companys will doing whatever they want and you cant get mad cause you would do the same if you could make money like that.

This article talks about the predicted oil price increases for the companies and therefore for the consumers. However due to this increase other energy costs will also rise. In my opinion the biggest problem will be the rise in gas prices, seeing as I myself am about to become a driver.
I can see where most people will blame to oil companies for this increased in prices, but i dont think thats fair. They ARE corporations that need to make a profit so when it costs them more money for gasoline, it will cost us as well. This increase in price is not all that extraordinary..
This doesn't surprise me. Gas prices have been on the rise for years now, but I do think it's crazy that they'll be up to 4$ this year, and even crazier if it reaches 5$ in 2011. But we should just face the fact that the gas prices are never going to stop rising if we continue to use as much as we do. This year is going to be tough for many people, but hopefully we'll be able to accommodate and not go into another recession.
In my opinion the rising price of gas is not a shocker, we all knew it was going to rise within the year. We cant do anything about it, our system realize on gas.
This article is very informing. I think it's crazy that some states gas prices will go up to four dollars a gallon, thats crazy. Yes its not all the stated but I'm sure we all we will very soon. I think this means we should be very careful how we use our gas, only driving when we need to and car pulling should happen a lot more. But the gas prices will never go down so we all might as well start to get use to it.
I think that this is crazy! I do not understand why we have to pay so much money to get gas from other countries, when we have oil here in the United States. Although they say that spending $750 a year on gas is not that much, other people may think differently. Some people my not be able to afford the gas prices and when it gets to the point that no one will be able to afford gas, what are we going to do then?
I'm not that surprised by this article. Gas prices are constantly going up. I do, however find this article alarming. It shows that we, as a nation, need to do somthing to lessen our dependence on oil. Eventually, all of the fossil fuels that took millions of years to form will be gone. If the world doesn't find a way to replace oil with other energy sources soon, we'll be in big trouble.
The prices raising would be terrible. It takes money away from the parents and citizens and will make life harder. The prices always raise but it should have a steady rise every year. It is the extreme rises that hurt people the most.
If gas prices go all the way up to what they are predicted it will really hurt this country because that extra 750 dollars that could be used for other expensises like bills. this could hurt are enconomy more than people think
I cant believe that Companies consider a $750 raise in a persons annual cost in gas per year is not a big deal. For me a high school student with a part time job as a lifeguard thats huge. A dollar raise in gas will make our economic struggles even worse. It will create an domino effect in the cost of transportation and other energy cost.
Well, since I am a teen driver, I hate this article. I have a job to pay for insurance on my car, and gas is expensive enough, but $4?? Jeeze! The worst part of it is, they may not stop there, by 2012 they might be up to $5 or $6. I guess it's one of those things the economy and government has to work and compromise to control, but, WORK AND COMPROMISE HARDER.
The gas prices going up is ridiculous. No one in this recession can afford it. and without gas they won't be able to drive to work to get money to even drive to work. it will just be a downward fall to no one driving, which isn't an option for a lot of people. The gas price going up it dumb and shouldn't be happening.
$5 dollars for gas is crazy!I know that I dont want to pay that much. But gas prices are always going to go up, and it dosent surprise me that it will be that much in 2012.The gas prices going up will not be good for our economy at all it is already in a teribal state and this would only hurt it more.
After reading the article "gas Prices for 2011", I felt like gas prices will only continue to spiral out of control. The fact that gas prices will rise to $4 sometime over the summer is totally depressing. Not only will gas prices rise, but simple things like ordering a pizza will also increase in price. The increase in gas prices will also slow economic growth, which is something our nation definitely cannot handle. The only upside to this article is the fact that next summer I will be a freshman at The Ohio State University, meaning I can't drive, meaning I won't be paying for much gas.
Gas prices raising so fast can be alarming. It is nice to know that only a few states are starting out this way. I also believe America needs to find a better way to conserve oil. Everything always flucuates, so it will go up then back down again. It can be rediculus sometimes to pay that much for gas, espically as teens we have places to go.
This increase isn't horrible but it is quit a jump. The gas prices have increased in the past and their really isn't any reason to freak out. This price jump could be good or bad. I have family who always say gas prices show the future of the economy. I'm not totally sure if that's true but it does seem that when the economy gets better the gas prices go up.
I think that this whole thing is crazy. I will not be driving my car if the gas prices gett up to $5 a gallon in 2012. It didn't say but if Ohio is among the list of states that will go up by Memorial day, then i might not be driving then either. I already think $3 per gallon for gas is a lot, so if it goes up any higher then me and driving won't work.

I don't drive so I am not directly affected by gas prices, but I feel the distress from everyone else. I think that gas prices are not going to get considerably lower, so we need to find a better way to get around. I know that scientists are working hard on this subject, but we can't leave it all up to them and keep complaining. We need to start carpooling and walking. Don't stress about gas, it's just a spec of dust in this wonderful life!
I feel as if gas prices increase in the upcoming year that it will not help economic growth. If anything it will anger people. Paying 4 dollars for gas is incredible. No one should have to pay that much. So this is almost a scary thing to grasp.
Gas prices going up as much as they are just make this recession feel like an endless cycle. How are people going to get back on their feet financially if they are spending every dime they have on gas? If gas goes up to $5 a gallon by 2012 our country is going to be in a world of hurt. I hope things improve.
The article for me has both pros and cons. With the price of gas going up I believe it could help the enviorment because people will want to use less gas to save money. This article surprised me. I hated paying for gas when it was like 2.50 and the thought of gas prices raising to 4 dollars this summer blows my mind. This article also made me aware that gas prices are going to effect the price of shipping and just ordering a pizza.this amazes me

This is outrageous. No one can really afford gas right now. This summer is going to be hard on families. we have got to fix these problems and fast.
