Another Recession? or are we on the road to improvement?

This article is for September 20th. Are we heading into another recession? or do we see positive gains?

With where our economy is now, being in a recession for this long, we really didn't cover much. So a recession within a recession actually makes sense, it's not as scary as it sounds either. Having this mini-recession will actually cause a difference to about half or less of what the first one did. And with 2 recessions in a row, the recovery could yield a better result than others from before. We're just taking the long road to recovering, rather than the quick, yet not as effective road.

The fact that we have not had enough time to recover from our previous recession and already the prices of our imports are rising when we need to be spending that money within our nation to help fix our national debt a little more is in my opinion making us lean more towards another recession. People keep saying that we are on a road to recovery when it comes to this recession but at the rates of our imports and our spending as a whole, another recession is soon to come, as previous articles on the blogspot have gone to sho.

So basically there are mixed results, some things increasing and some decreasing, what we should really be looking at is the trend in unemployment which is staying around nine percent and is even higher in Ohio. There might not be another recession but it will take a while to recover from this one.

This recession needs to be over! i'm sick of it! the numbers for people without jibs are ridiculous! they keep getting bigger and bigger i believe that we might go into a depression if we keep up what we are doing now. i'm really hoping to go toward the recovery way but the way its going now...its not going to well :(

In my opinion we really didn't over come a lot. With the recession and the economy problems, all of this is not going good right now. I believe we should be using our money for more important things like fixing our national debt. If we continue to spend our money like this and at the rates with our imports, i believe that another recession could come very soon.

i think that because we are still recovering from our previous resessicion that we will not improve a noticeable amount for awhile. i actually think that the ecomony will get worse before it better which means that we might fall back into reccession but i dont believe it will be bad as the last one.

I feel like the recession is never going to end. All this article talked about was this lowered, and that declined, and such and such decreased. It scares to me to think that this recession is still getting worse and worse.

In my opinion, and i'm sure the opinion of everyone else as well, this recession is ridiculous! I feel that as soon as we take one step forward, we take two steps back.
With two recessions in a row, we can only hope that there will not be a third. I really hope the economy can get close to where it was a few years ago because at this point in time, i don't see it happening.

from this article i can say that our economy isnt accomplishing much. I feel like we could go into another recession any time because theres so many people without jobs and how all our prices of gods are raising and peoples pay checks are not. People just aren't getting paid enough with there job and thats why many are struggling.I feel like were not accomplishing anything.

Having been in a recession for multiple years now were slowly starting to make positive improvements but with unemployment so high it makes improving the economy much harder to do. We are on the road to improvement its just gonna take years and probably more than one president to see any major results.

I feel like the economy is going up and down. One minute things seem to be doing good then the next everything is bad again. With the economy being such a mess at the moment I think that we should just let things be for now and let things be for now and let the president deal with things.

It may seem that times are getting better due to the lowering of unemployment benefit requests, but I don't think we should be holding our breaths. There are ups and downs to everything, and this just may be on of the short "ups" before a "down."

Sometimes, things look like they are getting better just before a giant crash. This "recession" has potential to become a full-blown depression, but that hopefully is not the case. We just need to do our best to keep what we have, and not try to push for too much too fast.

I feel like our economy is not improving. The articles says that some things are improving but the goverment needs to look at unemployment. Unemployment is raising higher and higher, esp. here in Ohio. I feel like we might go into a depression if things do not get better.

I think our economy hasn't really been getting any better at all. Some parts may slowly be improving but one thing that is increasing is unemployment. More and more people are losing jobs. I believe this recession will be lasting for a long time.

Im very excited about the news that our economy is on its way to recovery! When i read the title of this article i was expecting it to say we have spiraled back into another recession. I feel like things are getting better; you don't hear as much negative stuff. When the recession was fresh in the air i remember people were talking about loosing their jobs, houses, 401K.. and etc. But know its just the occasional complaint about money. So that is my reflection of the article.

Since our economy has been in a recession for so long, doesn't show much hope for the US to have a recovery. We have yet to overcome this recession, i personally am sick and tired of it. I hate hearing about people who are without jobs and people who can barely even afford the things they really need. The government needs to figure out some sort of way to equal out the economy, because we cannot handle another recession.

I dont see how this economy can get any better under certain circumstances. Economists predicting a slow path back to a normal economy will hit the nail on the head. At the moment, I do not see any positive gain in the economy, and I do not see it getting any better for a few years. The government can come up with meaningless programs to help the economy for a few months, but at the end of the day, more money is lost, and more money is spent worthlessly.

As everyone probably agrees.. what the united states is going through right now is horrible... the unemployment rate is sky high and needs to be dropped ASAP!! i know i'm sick of it and i'm sure everyone else is as well.
The united states needs to step it up as a whole not individually.

Our economy is slowly recovering and unemployment rates are going down. many blame Obama for the national debt and believe that the Democrats will get the boot in the November 2nd elections. Stocks differ from time to time and the national debt fell a little bit recently. the country is slowly recovering from its "recession."

The state that our economy is in now is more stable than it was. The fact that we could fall into another recession is sort of scary. We might have to though. We haven't completly recovered from the last recession. But we are recovering, Slowly. The economy still has problems but eventually they will be over and the economy will be more stable than it has been for a while. :(

think the president needs to get his head in the game and start getting the economy fixed. cause obviously he its doing it now if claims for jobless benefits hit a two-month low last week then the economy is not getting any better

I feel as though I have to take a differnent stance on this article as everyone else. Our economy is not well off right now but the article is talking about how it is making some "very slight" progress. It stated near the end that jobs are growing and it also talked about how there was a slight upturn but definetly not a downturn.

Sarah Leighton said...

Our economy isn't by far good. The number of unemployment is ridiculous, but it could be worse. The increase of our economy over all is slightly going up little by little. We have a long way to go before we're okay again but that could be years. Hopefully we don't have another big recession to set us back even more than we are now.

The U.S. is still in the recession and very slowly crawling out of it. I think its very possible that we fall back into another one because once the money starts flowing in and everyone can get the things they need, money will be spent more frequently on things we don't need.

consumer prices rose.3 percent last month as food prices rebounded and energy costs marched higher. Fears of deflation are still alive. The U.S. dollar rose against the Euro.

SOsborne5 said...

The United States economy has been worse than what it is now, and we pulled out of it, so I don't see why this little recession wouldn't recover. Sure, its going up and down a lot, but I think in the next year it should be okay.

MBarton said...

The article talks about how a lot of things were lowered recently. This worries me because it makes me think that the recession isn't going to end and it's going to continue for a long time. The article also states how uneployment has dropped. In my opinion, this is a good thing because it means more jobs will be available.

Evanpetten2 said...

In my opinion, the economy will always have its ups and downs. I believe people spend a lot of money on stuff that isn't important. However the economy will fix itself some way or another.

The united states is going through a rough spot and unfortunatly is going to be in this situation four atleast a few more years. All these programs that the government are passing to try and jolt the economy work but only for a short term and do not have a long term affect on our economy. Basically we are going to have to push through these hard times and just wait it out since there is realy nothing the government can do.

It may seem as if our economy is gradually improving, I'm not sure if I am 100% positive on it. There are still many unemployed citizens in the United States, even though the unemployment rate has gone down slightly

Alex said...

The government's position in the economy is that it's just now getting on the road to recovery. Although we have not seen much improvement or seen it worsen; many people fear that a second recession is on its way. I personally can see why people think so. We still have a 9.6% unemployment rate and financial markets have dropped by 0.1%. However if there is a second recession, it surely won't hit us nearly anywhere as hard as the past recent one has.

emaloney2 said...

this recession is crazy,it keeps getting worse because of the unemployment rate. I hope there won't be another depression. Hopefully, the economy will fix itself. Or Obama will fix it.

The fact we did not have enough time to recover from our previous recession is hurting us. We just have to unite as a nation and spendmore within the nation. Also businesses need to give jobs to people!

well, i sense a recovery, but it seems a bit early to throw those words around right now. give it another month or 2 then we shall see where things are going.
