the recession has forced a lot of name brand companies to lower prices, so people would start buying their products again

It looks like all the companies that produce large electronics and car companies have lost money & have gone down in numbers. Coca-Cola however is doing a bit better.

YAYAYY Coke(:

Alot of companies had to lower their prices to stay afloat. But what I would like to know is where? Heck, Coke stayed at like $4 for a 12-pack!!!
I knew McDonald's would continue doing well, filling our bellies and promoting obesity with their 3 drive thrus at the new locations; mainly because of the dollar menu and dollar drinks.

If we like it, we buy it. Whether we can safely afford it or not.

Coca-cola is so good even though i don't drink pop or soda when I used to drink it, the only pop or soda that I used to drink Pepsi or Coca-cola and let me tell you it was so great. I thought Coca-cola was very refreshing and tasting and also crisp. It also used to be very cheap and everyone used to buy it just because there were also a lot of their companies products sold.

well lots of big time companies have lowered their prices but coke has doe better. I think its because a majority of people prefer coke over pepsi or other beverages.

The companies that have big investment kind of purchases have done worse in the recession because less people have been willing to spend that kind of money, while smaller products like coke, people will still buy in a recession.

I buy off brand, and I don't see why people buy brand names. I think that it should be cheaper bought, not brand name bought. My mom actuallywent to the store and the brand name cheese was cheaper. I went to buy gatorade and powerade was chaeper.

its weird!!!

The recession has caused a lot of companies to lower prices. This made a lot of people buy they're products because they were more affordable. Most companies that were producing things that mostly upper classed citizens would buy were hit hardest by the this economic recession because, the recession made most people save money. Other companies that make small things profited the most like Coke.

Coke has profited the most it is an American classic which is going to appeal to the public so if the prices are lowered and deals are made people are going to respond and buy it in large quantities.

I think alot of companies did well such as fast food indurstries. Even if they had to cut peopole they did real well. But in the comparison of companies such as coke they didn't stand a chance. I think these companies did well because they had a huge damand.

The companies have lowered their prices because we stoped buying their product. So now we are going to start buying there product from them once again. it works better for us we gett the better deal.

Alot of companies have lowered prices because they need to make money in the recession. Companies that sell bigger items have not done well because nobody has money to buy it. But, coke and mcdonalds and such has done well because they are cheap and are able to still sell their products at the same or at a bigger price. Americans have grown up around coke and mcdonalds and they both are delicious! So of course they will continue to keep us satisfied.

Technology and food/drinks two things I think will always do good. I saw coke having a high value more than pepsi because it has more global appeal.IBM because it's a huge company oriented technology. The world is a small plane when it comes to good people all over the world are buying our stuff even if we don't.

The leading brand right now, since 2000, is Coca-Cola. Jez Fampton, CEO of Interbrands, says that this is because their original product is still the same and they are creating new drinks looking to "woo" consumers switching to juices and teas, a very smart move on Coca-Cola's side.

The recession is causing a lot f companies to lower there prices so that people will buy their products, but Coke is just doing a better job. Also there are a lot of people who would prefer to drink Coke.

large companies have really went down on cost. like when i used to go to the corner store to but a drink it was like a 1.75 but now it is only like 1.30. only because of the recession, now that it hit people wouldn't want to buy things that they really dont need if it's high so they have to lower the prices in order to stay in the running.

A lot of companies has lowered their prices. Because of the recession companies lowered their prices and has made a lot of sales. People are able to afford stuff and save money. Cocoa cola is probably making the most profit than pepsi.

a lot of companies did lower their product prices. i think coca-cola was still doing so good because lots of people drink coke, it just has that classic flavor. i dont drink pop anymore, but i loved coke products such as sprite and coke when i did drink pop. even though people couldnt buy much, they could afford a coke(: im sure they were doing much better than pepsi.

During this recession coke has actually kept it going. Since their product is sold at McDonald's their buisness has still been good because of it being so cheep there and many people going there for something quick.

What I liked about this was that it pointed out to me that there are a lot of brand names that I don't even think about in relation to the recession. Google, for example is a company I never view as a brand. I use Google almost everyday. If I ever have something I need to know, I Google it. It's interesting to think about Google as a brand name that consumers trust, instead of just a search engine.

I think Coca-Cola is always going to do good regardless of financial and economic situations because people love it & its usually always a pretty low cost. Also, popular fast food places, such as McDonald's, offer Coke products which only makes people want it more.

the bigger companies or just the companies that refuse to lower their prices have done worse during the recession because nobody is willing to pay the price, but now that they realize that they've started to lower their prices.

Food and technology dealt with the recession the best, because it's something that people will always need and use. Most people don't want to cut back on using technology and although some people have cut back on fast food; Most people still buy it as an alternative to saving time. Also, new technology such as the new net-books have gotten people to spend more money on technology and use companies such as Google more and more. Things that people truly can go without for a while -a brand new car for example- has been losing some money, because people would rather not spend their money on new cars and would rather save their money for a rainy day.

Big name companies didnt really have an increase in sales during the recession, whereas declining sales rates began to become popular. This,in my opinion is why companies which lowered prices and were affordable during this time, happened to strive over competition,in this case,Coke.

During this recession, the people are not buying all the higher priced name brand stuff, so the companies had to lower their prices, which played a part in their profit loss.
