I think that the British economy is failing. This probabally sounds stupid, but I watch Doctor Who. its new season was supposed to start on Scifi in April, but its August and there hasn't been a new episode yet. I dont know if the show ran out of money and stopped filming or if they just stopped sending it to the United States. The British shouldn't have been in the wars anyway. They are a small country and they were trying to be 2nd to the United States when they should have been trying to keep their country great.
The British Empire is crashing along with many other countries (including America). Part of the reason of Great Britian falling is due to the rise of China, India, and other Asian countries. The current recession came as a surprise to Great Britian and they didn't have time to prepare for it. I find it interesting that a lot of our problems are the same as the problems the British have.
I do think the economy in Britain is starting to fail. And because their economy is failing, their place in the war and alliances with other countries may be lost. I think they shouldn't be wasting all their money on the war because ,according to the article, their people in Iraq are getting killed at a fast rate. Since their losing so many people, and their country's in a economic despair, they should give up on the war and se their money for the country.
It's sad to see Britain declining as a superpower and China rising up to take their place, Britain was cooler. :( They were like the US's cool little brother. China just isn't as much fun.
But I think the first priority of any country wanting to save money is to give of on this stupid "war" in the middle east. It's just a huge money-sink and is getting lots of people killed. Does anyone even remember what we are fighting for anymore?
When one country begins to fall, we all do. The recession and deficits affect all countries world wide I believe. And the sad part is that most people in America don't or won't realize it until America's as low as it can go and we try to look to another country for help.
Our country is so dependent upon other places for everything.
It seems that the UK's Empire is crashing because of the way they try to follow the US around in everything. As much as I love Britain, they don't seem to be very clever when it comes to recent economy. They followed us into the war to continue our best-buddies connection, but they're losing money and people at a rate they cannot afford to continue. The war doesn't really seem to be going anywhere anyway, so them dropping out shouldn't really effect them in any negative way. No one can view them badly for it, if they pull out to protect their country.
The British economy is headed to the dumps all because they werent prepared for the uprising of other countries (ie- China, Asia, India, etc) Britain is sadly stuck in the same situation as we are: a recession. Every country has their 'rise and fall' at some point in time and Britains has come just short after our is coming out of the pits. No need to worry though. They'll get back on their feet in no time. All countries do.
