"No doubt, the economy is gloomy. But how are you doing? It's a question the candidates are asking - and an issue that Americans are dealing with every day." CNN Money
Well in my case, its a little harder than what it was perhaps four years ago. my family is surviving but there is many things that we have to give up and yes, i will admit that it is a lot harder than a while ago. in the bright side it could be a lot worse.i just hope that it doesn't get worse with time
Our family got pretty lucky. My mom is a single mom who was barely making ends meet four years ago. However, she got a new job with a raise in salary in January. But now we're back in square one, where ends aren't really being met again. My family is still a lot better off than most. Americans should have optimistic view points during troubled times like these. I'm thankful that I still have a home and food to eat. That's all anyone really needs. Who cares if you can't go to the movies every weekend anymore or go out to eat every night of the week? The economy could be way worse.
My family and I are doing alright. Yes we have had to make cuts to make up for the rising price of gas and food mostly but my Dad was taught to save all the money he could so that at times like these it wouldn't be so bad. We don't go out to eat very much anymore like we used to and things like that but that is a part of life, changing and adapting to the world around you.
I can remember a few years ago when I could go out and buy shoes and cloths that I really didn't need. But now times have changed, my family and I are doing alright, we hardly go out to eat and we only buy what we need now. I was upset at first, it was hard to go from buying anything you wanted to only getting what you needed. But people are learning to deal with the new situation. Even if times get worse, people will survive.
Well my dad had a job that he made about 2 thousand dollars a week at back in 2001 and he no longer has that job and my parents are now divorced. We don't really have an extra money to spend and it is really cheaper to go to McDonalds than it is the grocery these days. I have saved all the money I have made since my 13th birthday and have barely spent any of it so I really know how to save. If I ever really needed something I could go out and buy it but I don't waste money and can't.
Am I better off?.... Hmmm... well let me check my pocket book... NO I'M NOT! There are a lot of things that I had to give up, or that my family has had to give up as I should say. For starters we can't eat up everything in the house anymore because food doesn't always come cheap anymore. We have also had to give up on shopping which just so happens to be a girl best thing to do. But on the for real side.. ha .. yeah this it really affecting my family. We don't have the money we use to a couple of years ago and it's harder paying the bills and shopping for what we need! I think it has took a great affect on pretty much everyone, including the rich!
