Was the Iraq War Fought For Big Oil?

The question of oil is probably one that has been asked since the war has begun, and will probably continue to be asked for quite sometime. There will always bean activist that will accuse the government of using 9/11 as a cover for a oil thirsty president; there will always be a skeptic that puts his head in the sand and goes to bed thinking the George W. Bush is the patron saint of oil wells. Nevertheless, one must ask the question,"What have Idone to cause this war?" If we would, as a people invested in renewable energies sooner, would this war never be? Or at least we would not have celebrated it's five year anniversary, and watched the families of forgotten soldiers mourn over their cold tombstones.

i think that we should stop fighting for oil and start working on a better way to get it. The US has spent so much money on the war in iraq and i think the reason is because of oil. We should really find a way to get the prices cheaper.

It think that in the start of the war we fought for our country. But now 5 years later we're there for exactly what everyone thinks we're there for. The oil. I totally agree with the article the only thing people talk about is the gas prices and how high they are. It's time we send our men and women home to their families.

since the public found out about us going to war the question of war for oil has been brought up. it has always been a contriversial question but our presidents sticks behind his initial comment and says that its not about oil. i dont care what anyone says i think oil has to contribute atleast a little bit to us being over there.

Well im not sure if we are in Iraq just for oil but i doubt its for peace.I mean if the soul purpose of the war was for oil than that was a mistake, because think of how much oil has been used for the war alone.

Was the Iraq War fought for a small natural resource that America needs? Initially, I believe it was not. However, if you can remember back to September 11, 2001, 99.9 percent of America wanted to go to war. The emotions shown by all Americans was fear of terrorism. Everybody expressed their feelings for war and everybody wanted it. As the war progressed on, people in America started to forget about September 11, 2001, and more and more Americans did not want war any more. But if everyone would pause and remember the horror of 9/11. The meaning of what happened on that dreaded day. Then the answer is obvious as to wheather the war in Iraq was for oil.
