Interesting. It seems a bit much for cows, but one must ask if it is a good investment. One wonders if the farmer has broke even (at least) from the increase in milk production, that he has spent on the water beds. Do comfortable cows bring home the bacon? Well, I suppose those are pigs, but there is no denying the increase in production.
ok so this is an interesting method to producing more milk but if it works, more power to him...i can not help but wondering how the cows get off these water beds...yes i know not really important but i still want to know..well back on topic as long as this farmers method keeps working for him i just think its very inventive.
This is very odd. It is very hard to believe that cows produce 20% more milk if they go to sleep on waterbeds. I wonder on how someone would have come up with the idea of letting his cow sleep during nights on a waterbed.
This seems just crazy to me.... it blows my mind.... i can't believe it at all. This makes me want to become a farmer so that i can figure out thinks like this. i am proud to live in Ohio because of this.... it is the biggest achievement in Ohio i have ever seen. almost.
Wow. One word, ridiculous! First of i cannot believe anyone would ever buy a waterbed for their cow. Secondly, i cannot believe that the waterbed would make a cow produce more milk. Like Spencer said, I wonder if he has a made a profit from the supposed increased milk production.
It sounds to me like a good idea to let cows sleep on waterbeds. If they are making the farmers more money and are producing more milk then thats good. I personally feel bad for cows because they have to stand up all day and are not happy. Maybe a waterbed will make them feel relaxed.
Wow that is crazy. It really does surprise me what people will come up with. It seems a little much for a cow, but I guess if it produces more milk and more money for him then go for it. If it continues to work maybe it will help other dairy farmers.
i think this idea is kind of interesting. i mean you have to look at the difference in the cost of the beds and how much more you are making because the cows are producing more milk. also what are the long term effects of cows sleeping on water beds. it could make them weaker of lazier that would not be good and might eventually slow down milk production.
This is crazy... Why do cows need to sleep on waterbeds? Don't cows sleep standing up how does that work? And that costs way too much, but i guess if it helps production then i guess that's a good deal. Hopefully the farmer makes more than he lost...
