I have found out in recent years that stores do trick you into spending money since my parentsnow make me but my own groceries. There is one in paticular thing that I have noticed, and it is that when you go out and buy pop-tarts, it is better to but the smaller packages with the four pasties. You can get two of the four packed boxes for $3,19. But it is $3,00 for the box that has six pastie packs. If you do the math the smaler box is well worth. Since my parents now have me buy my own groceries, I always ook for the better bargain.
I agreed with most of what the article was saying. Stores do try to trick the customer into spending more money than what they normally do. Can you blame them? They are just trying to make a profit. In almost everyone of the tips it said to use common sense, and to do the math. These are pretty easy simple steps to do while you are shopping. Its not like the stores are running some kind of big scandle, they are just out to make an extra buck. As the consumer we have to just take a mental note of the steps to help us be a smarter shopper.
I always like to make fun of my parents when they do not realize that they are not getting the best price... if my mom sends my dad to the store for groceries then if the her list says something is 10 fo $10 he will buy 10. But one thing that my mom does right is look at the tops and bottems of the aisles and always makes me climb the shelves to get what is cheapest.
The article is pointing out things that would help you when shopping. I have noticed the things they are talking about when i go shopping. I do purchase 3 of something just because it says 3 for 9.99. even though i did not really need three. And i always get the buy one get one free. i have not noticed that stores keep the name brands at eye level and generics at bottom and top shelves. i will look for that next time. over all a good, informational article.
