Welcome to 2010-2010 Second Semester Economics
Welcome to Second Semester 2010-2011. The articles for second semester will start here and above. I will be listing one or more articles per week that you will be expected to read, give careful thought to, and then respond. You will need to include in your response: the main points of the article-- summarizing and then stating your opinion about the topic. This is worth 50 points per week and is part of a category that makes up 40% of your grade.

Why Are We Using Blogger?

Rules are simple:
1. You must respond to minimum of one article or video clip per week that I post on this site.
I may post more than one article per week-- you choose the one that you want to respond to, however, I would encourage you to read all articles.
2. Your response must follow school guidelines of appropriate language, just as any assignment given in class.
3. Your response must show evidence of details mentioned in the article or clip.
4. Yes, you can respond to what another person posts-- but be respectful in doing such.
5. If you do respond to what another person say, that is fine, however, you must support your position by showing further evidence from your reading or viewing
6. I will post articles throughout the week and your response must be completed no later than midnight Monday night of the week following the posts.
7. You should always get back onto blog to make sure that your post is on the site.
8. Each of you will need to request to join the blog-- only members can post remarks. However, keep in mind -- literally the world can read the articles and your remarks. And for your knowledge--- they do.
9. I do not want any of you to put your full name on the blogspot. I would like for each of you to use the screen name which should include= your first initial, full last name and the period I have you for example lrowland3. This will make it very easy for me to grade your posts.
** You will need to create a gmail email account. I will walk each of you through this process in class.
10. Looking forward in reading your thoughts and sharing conversation with each of you.
If you have further questions, please see me.

Welcome to 2010 Second Semester Economics
Welcome to second semester- 2010.
Each of you will receive a sheet with complete directions on how to become a member of the blog.
Each of you will be responsible for posting comments on a weekly basis - minimum of one post per week. You must read and respond to the articles for that week. Simply read the article and discuss it's contents. What do you think about what you read? Do you agree? Disagree? and Why? Keep in mind to keep all comments school appropriate. I will be posting articles that will relate to the topics we are studying in class..... looking forward in reading and hearing your thoughts. Mrs R

No article for next week- take one week off

A. Make sure you have completed a blog for each week posted on wall in room. If you add a post entry on the blog, please write your name and period on the appropriate article sheet. I will pick these up Friday evening so I can record them.
B. If you need to do test corrections-- we will take care of this upon my return. If we need to change a grade after it is posted, we will do exactly that. Do not panic. We will make sure you get the correct grades.
C. If any of you have any questions, please email me at lrowland@middletowncityschools.com.
D. Have a great weekend! Football team-- let's do it. I will wear my Purple Palooza t-shirt at home to cheer you on!
E. Stay healthy and see you next week.
