why would i spend that much money, i've spent $50 on gifts for seven people, if you're cheep, like me, you can find good gifts for cheep you just have to know where to look, then there are people like my grandma, who buy everyone in the family (about 8 people) wii's, i thought it was some kind of joke, but there were 8 wii's in those 8 boxes, that kind of person shouldn't buy gifts its just nuts.
i think that spending more money around the holidays is to be expected. its nice to get everyone that means something to you a little gift. but like the article said, the spending season starts in september. that includes thanksgiving and people spend money on a lot of thing for that holiday too; but not as much as christmas.
Spending money around the holidays is a must in my opinion. Everyone is going to spend money, because in my opinion everyone wants to get something for everyone they care about and love. Christmas is a time to spread holiday cheer and we do so by buying gifts and spending time with our loved ones. Thanksgiving is when it all starts because that's when all the good sales are.
Everyone is going to spend money, because in my opinion everyone wants to get something for everyone they care about and love. Spending money is just all a part of the holidays but you do not have to spend tons of money if you are smart.
People are obviously going to spend more money during the holidays because they are buying gifts for their loved ones. Some people just go over board with spening money on gifts though
there saying that people spend more then they have and too much during the holidays. this puts people in debt and its all bad. people should be more careful how they spend
It is pretty obvious that people would begin spending more money in the holiday season as everyone wants to buy something for the people that they care about. It doesn't surprise me that the average amount spent for the holidays has continued to decrease each year for the past few years.
Around the holidays of course people spend more money. It's expected for everyone to try and give more than they usually do because during the holidays. However, in my opinion people don't really have to spend a whole lot of money in order to get a gift or make everyone happy during the holidays because it is the thought that counts.
everyone is expected to spend a bunch of money during the holidays weather they want to or not. some people go the cheaper way and go on black friday or any other day that they are having a sale. on the other hand the other type of people could care less how much they spend and most likely they have a much higher income.
most people spend a ton of money of gifts because they want to give the "best" gift, then they put themselves into a whole. So many people get little gifts that always are worth a lot of money.People get wiis and also xbox 360s for people for presents and thats what cost the most. Be more people use a ton of money on christmas only.
Spending money is common, if not necessary around the holidays. People should be careful of how they spend their money like looking for the best sales and not being in a hurry to buy the gift you want at the exact moment that you see it. There are ways that you could spend little money, but be able to buy a lot of gifts. You just have to know the tricks.
everyone spends money during the holidays, just some more than others. it also depends on the income they have and how many they want to buy for. some people shop on sale days and others just do not care how much they spend. it all comes down to their income.
I think that spending more money during the holidays is not very surprising. Everyone wants their families to have a good holiday. Also, the stores raise their prices really high. People buy Christmas presents year round, not just during the holidays. But it is increases as the holidays get closer.
Spending more money around the holidays is kind of expected ? I mean its a big time of the year and its a time to go all out for your friends and family ! If I have the money Im going to spend it ! On black friday I will be out starting gift shopping !
Everyone is going to spend money during the holidays, because everyone is buying gifts for the ones they love. Some people just spend way to much. You can still buy a lot of gifts and be smart on your spending.
Holiday spending is expected but it's starting to get out of control. People are spending way too much and they are starting to get further and further into debt. Instead of spending so much money people can start buying cheaper things instead of buying the best of everything. The second best is just as good.
I fell it is essential to spend money around the holidays. Everyone is going to spend money, because people want to get something for everyone they care about and love. People spread holiday cheer by buying gifts and spending time with our loved ones. The article says that all this spending can put people in debt.
Most people seem to believe that the primary way to show someone that you care about them is by spending money to buy them something, even if it's something cheap. However, I believe it's more valuable to spend time with someone or make them something more personal than a store-bought, generic, often non-personalized gift. I would much rather spend time with people than spend money on them, especially when the economic system is so crappy. It would help my family more to save the money I would spend on gifts for things like bills, gas money, etc. I would get much more satisfaction from spending time and saving money than spending money and wasting time.
To me, the holidays were meant for spending time with family and appreciating who and what you have. We have somehow managed to make it more about getting even more ridiculous things. A real present would be to either save your money to help with those dreaded payments, or give the person the money you would have spent on something which would have broken after a month.
Wondering why I have to post this a second time seeing as my first one didn't go through... Im guna post the idea my family had for this holiday season. Each household buy a single item worth $50 or less. Then all the households put the gifts together and one buy one grab a randomly wrapped present. Thats the christmas gift for your household/
This helps stimulate the economy tremendously! It might make us look like opulent hedonists, but we're doing it for the greater good! People in professions all over the country get at least some small economic stimulation.
i think you can find nice inexpensive gifts for people and they wouldnt even be able to tell how much moey you spent on them. im not saying go buy your mom a pair of socks but you dont have to go buy her a new car either.
People spend too much money on a made up holiday that has strayed far from the original point. Let's celebrate Jesus' birthday by fighting people at wal~mart to save 5 dollars on a gift for someone we see once a year. Makes me sick, not in the literal sense but disgusted. Black Friday is a joke too, so is halloween, so is Sweedist day and so is every holiday. They're all marketing schemes, rise against the system, and rage against the machine, REBEL!!!!
