The income gap has increased exponentially since the 1970's. The sad part is most Americans don't even really realize the severity of the gap. My question is who is letting this occur and why is it still happening? No, I don't think people who work hard and earn their money should give it up to fully support the unemployed but I do think things should be more equal.
The incomes of everyone is gapped more than we think. That should be no surprise. The economy just keeps getting worse and worse. Of course the top incomes will stay that way because even if they lose money, they still have it. A lower income that loses money could mean one's children doesn't have food to eat or lights to see. Maybe even the water to drink will be shut off. It effects the lower incomes more and is seen less. Why this is a surprise? No one can say, but i think it should not be surprising.
I agree with Kimmie. its really horrible that there really isn't a middle class anymore. everyones either rich or poor nowadays and its upsetting. especially for those of us who are on the poor side. i think that we need to come up with a way for our money to be distributed more evenly. it this has really been going on for so long shouldn't we have already come up with a solution?
Wow this gap has been increasing for some time now and no one seems to really care or even pay attention to it its really sad to know that some people just dont care
The income gap just keeps growing farther apart. It's sad to know most Americans don't care and don't take time to notice how bad the economy is becoming. In America we don't really have a "Middle Class" anymore. I believe that things need to be more equal and the income gap shouldn't be so large.

I am not all that surrprised about the income gap. It is sad that the top percent is making 1.1 million and over while the rest percent of working class is making about 31,500 a year. These numbers have been increasing since the 1970's. so maybe its time to find a way to make a decrease in the income gap.
