"Vinyl or Digital," was one of the better articles to read lately, not so depressing. The fact that businesses such as,J&R Music are still creating records with popular artists like Lady Gaga and Norah Jones is pretty cool. They're keeping the tradition of records alive. Not only are they doing that, but they are also creating record players that you can hook up to the computer to convert music to digital files. Kids around the country are stacking up on their vinyl collections. That seems like something I might take interest in one day because I love music and I love collecting all the different varieties of songs created by recent artists and past artists.
2.1 million vinyl records were sold in 2009. i honestly cant believe it. i hope they keep selling and more people become interested in them. the music on a vinyl is so much different then one of a digital cd or computer.
I am glad to here there are still records being sold. I haven't seen or heard of any lately. J&R music is smart for still selling records and the players because like they mentioned it was just a fad. More and more people are starting to buy the records and playing them. I think it's really cool that they still keep making records for the new/recent stars. I think the record players are more of a classy look.
I believe that if things can improve the new and improved versions should be used. So in the case of vinyl or digital why not use the one with better sound quality and newer and improved? Even though there has been an increase in sales of vinyl since 1991 I don't think it makes much since to use them.
I thonk it's crazy that all these old vinyl's are coming back... i really like it though. Whoever say's we can't go old school. I really liked this article its more interesting then some of the previous ones. Espically since im a big music fanatic. I hope these keep selling. I like the idea how you can convert them to i-pods which make them more convient yet still get the good quality of the sound. We should all try this.m
with the tech. changing so fast, it is sometimes good to keep the old thing. i cant say which is better, or that i even care. but it is up to a personal preference and no one can say what it better or not.however i do beleive the elderly would listen to more up to date music if they were on the records.
This article does not make much sense to me. I mean i can see some people preserving the old fashioned vinyl records. but there is no way we would go back to it. Mp3s and Digital CDs are so much more convenient to use. I just don't see this happening in the year 2011.
I really don't know a whole lot about vinyl records. By this article it sounds like they are selling a lot of records from the numbers in 2009 at 2.1 million. This is good for J & R company for all the records they have and are selling from the new artist selling them like Lady gaga and Norah jones.

i think this one is that everyone just wants the origonal sound of vinyl but to give it in a mp3 format and charge more thats stupid cuz its still not the same and there just wanting more of your money for a stupid product thats not going to give you the same quilty that a true vinyl record would give you

After reading the article, "Vinyl or Digital" I was completely shocked. Never in million years did I think that records would become popular again, but I guess they are. Apparently more and more kids are buying records, which I feel is pointless because not many people are around a record player all the time. With digital music it's easier to carry with you with all of our latest technology. But it is also nice to see the kids use things from the past, it's like a part of our culture.
It pretty col to think that Vinyl records are still being sold in the world today. It's almost shocking, especially when the records are of Lady Gaga and Norah Jones. Selling Vinyl records is a good idea, mostly because there are so many people who still collect those and it keeps the demand for them high.
I must say I'm shocked people are buying so much vinyl i honestly think that's dumb. I believe that the cracking and "vinyl sound" isn't a good one. I'm all for digital.
I think it's pretty cool that vinyl records are still sold today, after all it is the original way of listening to music. CD's may just be the tape-player cassets of our generation, losing out to file sharing and the ever popular digital sales on online stores like itunes. Seems like since vinyl records could help the music industry not die out, since CD sales definitely aren't helping.
Im really surprised that vinyl music is still around. With everything going digital its hard to believe that people are still buying them, especially when the records are of Lady Gaga and Norah Jones. I guess some people just like the old fashion way of things. I personally like the digitla way of life and dont plan on using records.
I liked this article because it was more upbeat and interesting to me then the ones we have been reading in the past. I think that this is an interesting topic because i have never heard a vinyl record before but now after reading this, I think i will pull out my moms record player and take a listen. Also if companies are making vinyl records with today's artists then it might make the switch a little easier. I also had no idea that vinyl records were as popular as they are. I thought they died a long time ago, so i guess you learn something new everyday.
I think this article was really cool. I think it's awesome that music businesses are creating vinyl records with popular artists. Honestly it was very surprising for me to read that 2.1 million vinyl records were sold in 2009. I think its a great opportunity for us to hear music the way it used to be heard. Our generation can hear the same sound as many generations before us. I think it's great for us to have the option between vinyl and digital.
Whatever I do I always have to listen to some type of music, so reading this article really grabbed my attention! Although I think that it is fantastic that vinyls are coming back, I don't think it will last that long. Technology has evolved so much over that past decades and to just drop all the iPods and MP3 players and go old school again would be crazy.

I think this article was very interesting. I thought these Vinyls were obsolete long ago, and i didnt know people were doing so much work to modernize them. Then i saw that 2.1 Million were sold in 2009, i thought that was crazy! I didnt think they even made those anymore. But, i think its so interesting to me because it's kind of keeping tradition alive with the records. However, i wouldnt use one. Why pass up the digital technology and great sound quality for something thats so old? Heck, 1 million CD's sold in a week when Nicki Minaj's album came out. So, obviously others agree.

Vinyl or Digital was a very interesting article i had no idea that artist such as 50cent are making records. I personally have never heard a vinyl because i wouldn't know where to get on or even know how to play it but it interesting to hear they are making a come back.
I think this article was really interesting. My whole family has big storage bins filled with records, so I always viewed them as a thing of the past. It's interesting that they're coming back, and I think they'll make a lot more money than CD's since CD's can be easily made on your computer, but you can't make records. Also, the fact that they give off a clearer quality of sounded will be a plus as well. Usually vintage things are popular among people, so I think vinyl records will be too.
The number of Vinly records sold in 2009 really shocked me, I didn't know so many people were listening to the records. I'm happy the sells were so high and people were still intrested in vinly. The quality of music sounds so much better than music downloaded from a computer or on a CD.
