Why Does News About Greece and their economy concern the US?

  1. If Greece stopped paying their debts we Americans would not get any benefits from these countries. We would have to spend more importing costs, etc. This would be dangerous to our economy as our economy is bad enough as it is.

  2. This Whole Thing Just Means That Us(Americans) Will Suffer From This Decision And Will Most Likely Go Into A Even Greater Depression Than What We Are Going Through Right Now!

  3. The US trades a lot with other countries, which has created a link between our and their economy. If one country bails their debt, its going to comeback somewhere else, even here in the US. "Bail" is just throwing that debt on something else.

  4. The whole thing is just stupid to me. we wont even get enough benefits from these countries. We would have to spend more money for important things.

  5. Greece has stopped paying their debts americans do not get any debts because of greece does not want to pay for they debts. and our americans will suffer from these problems we keep having.

  6. If Greece's economy absolutely blows over, than it is almost guaranteed that other weak economies will follow suit. This might create a chain reaction that will somehow reach and impact the United States. We should not be apathetic about Greece's, or any other country for that matter, for it does concern us. I worry that the Spanish and French economies might fail seeing as they are both part of the European Union and I have relatives there.

  7. If Greece's economy was to default we would suffer very little, at first. But as the other eurozones that are not looking to hot would begin to suffer as well. This would then lead to America suffering even more. Like they said Borrowing prices would increase, which would lead to an even more downfall of our economy. Which lets face it, we're already not that good, economically speaking.

  8. America relies heavily on trade from other countries. Our economy is directly tied to other countries' economies. Without trade we would have shortages in several resources. If Greece goes under, our economy will suffer and the recession may get even worse.

  9. We trade with other coutries and that gave us a connection with them. If their economy falls, then its going to come back and bite us in the butt. If we cant get any imports from other countries, then we are stuck with more stuff and that doesn't help our economy any. When we cant trade with them, they don't get any money and that destroys their economy even more then it already is.

  10. I think that greece as well as the united states will face an economic down turn..... there is always a limit to the amount of money that you are spending or can spend , called deficit spending....!

  11. Its going to be a domino effect if Greece goes down everyone else will slowly start to go down too.

  12. The US cares alot about trade, especially since we rely on it so much. If Greece's economy goes down, their trade would most likely as well. This will therefore damage ours and change our trade expenses.

  13. I think americans should care , because if developed countries stop paying ,then we've got a whole new world resulting in higher borrowing costs around the globe. Americans wont benefit anything. I think this would lead in to another Great Depression in the U.S. Hopefully that wont happen ever again and the economy problems we have now get solved.!

  14. If Greece does not pay their debts then Americans will suffer too. Our economy will just get worse then it already is, hopefully not a depression.

  15. If their economy goes down, we won't have a lot of chances to trade with them. And trade is very important. If they don't pay their debts that will affect us slowly. And soon hurt us just as it is hurting them.

  17. I think the information about greece isn't really that big of a deal to the u.s because while we do have trade with them, it is costing us more money to trade than the benefits we are receiving from Greece and other trading countries,

  18. If Greece's economy starts to fall I'm pretty sure eventually everyone will start to suffer. Which is not a good thing. Just because right now everyone's not doing so well in the economy. So if Greece falls. Everyone eventually will.

  19. We trade with plenty of other countries. If other countries such as Greece have a bad economy it can effect our trade with them because they will not have the money they need to buy our product which will in turn effect our economy because we will not be selling our product.

  20. What the news about Greece and their economy have the concern from US is because, if countries such as Greece stop paying on their debts that the US would suffer big time and that we would be in a even deeper recession than what we are in now . Which would be horrible and even harder from us to get out of . It would also be harder for our economy to get back to the way that we use to be.

  21. Cause if Greece would make bad decisions then it would effect us cause they trade with us and it will cost a bunch of money if there economy went down cause then they wouldn't have enough money to pay what they owe us and if that would to happen then our money income would go down and we are having problems as it is so we don't need another thing bringing us down and making our owe to other countries worse.

  22. I agree because Greece is going to want to borrow from another country and the US might be it. But if we do that then things are only gonna get worse than they are now.

  23. The way that countries including the u.s. trades connects us in more than one ways to greece.. If their economy fails that means others suffer, and if others suffer so will we... They'll need to be "bailed out" of the economic downfall coming their way, and if it comes to it u.s. trade, spending and imports and exports will suffer hitting out economy even more.

  24. With Greece not paying their debts America will not benefit for the other countries. We will be spending even more then we already do to import goods. Which is not a safe move for our economy. ANd if we bail out a different country its going to be harder on our country because they will not even pay us back

  25. The US is always gonna have a bad depression but this is gonna make it even more worse while we trade with other countries an will suffer everyday.

  26. if the us suffers they all suffer cause america is one if the biggest buyers sellers and traders in the world

  27. The Americans will not benefit from the countries, this will like put us in a bigger depression then what we are now.

  28. if they stop paying we going to lose alot of money. We need them to keep paying for their debts cause that would hurt us on our debts a little.

  29. Well of course we should be worried about the Greece economy. If they crash and burn then that will mean we get less money brung into the economy while we are already in a huge debt.

  30. this just means that the depression an stuff that we're going threw will get worse

  31. without greece are economy will go down so greece needs to start helping as or people in the us will not have things for peoples kid and family
